I don't have Shimazu yet. I can get him if I roll another 50 Magatama and use 5 exchange tokens to get 1 of his fragments. Would you say he is worth spending 50 Magatama before update? Sadly, no Otomo Sorin or Yamanaka Yukimori in my next 150 rolls. Usually, it is not a good idea. We don't know what future updates will throw in us. So, a waiting strategy is always the best course of action in ET games. For example, best f2p generals of EW7 Timur and Subutai weren't the part of the roster until the mid-game. I am sure that we'll get fragments of most important purple generals sooner or later. And don't spend this bluish energy for getting remaining fragments of generals you already have. It is extremely difficult to get it, so consider it to be your strategic reserve. Use it only then when there aren't any doubts about the exchange. Like getting fragments of legendary/epic generals with excellent skills and chapters in the library. I agree with that, I'm sure that if people buy stuff from this game we will get much more and better generals. That is why I was planning to wait and keep my Magatama. But if Shimazu, besides giving me access to another legendary story and interesting active skill, also offers me the best way to farm coins, then perhaps he is worthy and I need to roll for him today! I meant before that I'll get 29 fragments of Shimazu if I roll 5 times 10-rolls, or actually, after checking again, when I roll exactly 42 Magatama. Then I'll need to spend exactly 5 of my 182 exchange tokens to get the last fragment. I don't think 5 tokens is too much for a useful general, if we don't see more of his fragments in our immediate future rolls. We don't roll only the best stuff obviously. In the next 42 Magatama rolls I'll also get: - 30 fragments of Hojo Ujiyasu or 30 fragments of Hashiba Hideyoshi - I'd choose Hideyoshi, as Ujiyasu will grow from sweeps; - first roll of Suzuki Shigehide (not enough to unlock); - first roll of Saito Dosan (not enough to unlock); - second roll of Honda Tadakatsu and Tachibana Dousetsu (unlocking them), - 36 rolls of random blues and greens. Also, we don't know how update will change our fixed rolls, maybe we win big, maybe we loose

I am in favor of using Blue Flames to unlock Legendary Story generals, because of their content and inherent growth potential, so IMO you would be good there.

Is it even a good idea to roll now when you have all the golds? I mean there could be new gold gens and purples in the future right

Material of his special chapter is desperately needed for forging legendary armor His special unit is the best Teppo unit so far (you unlock it after completing his chapter on normal difficulty). And with his active skill your best generals Mori (Horse Archers) or Maeda (AC is not his specialized unit, but he's simply great for leading it) can attack up to 4 times. And, yes, his chapter 1 is the easiest way to farm gold. As I said, only two clicks are needed I don't have Honda, but by the looks of it he is a top tier general as well. Cavalry in general performs much better than it was expected. In last Tenkabito missions I usually used 3 of them with support of Mori and Hojo.

So I decided to grab Shimazu, for the reasons stated above and for the Iron Plates! Now I have to choose where I sweep, but I won't complain about that.
Coin farming with Chapter 1 works, it is still slow, but faster than any other option I've found, so there is that.

I have both Suzuki and Akechi and on paper they both should be far superior to Shimazu as Teppo Commanders, but in reality Shimazu knows how to hit hard, especially with critical shots. And yes, it is a dilemma what chapter to choose for daily sweeps. My first choice is Mori. I am planning to max him out as it is humanly possible for a f2p player. But then I always have a difficult decision to make. All remaining generals in the library offer valuable resources.

Yeah Mori and Hojo are the very very obvious 6star gold targets for f2p while I am not sure about their special units. With a strong Hojo it might be better to use DoP rather than mortar. And more importantly I think Mori is more of a cavalry general than an archer, I played his chapter before purchasing mounted archers and I think he was deployed with lvl2 Horoshu each time which was smooth. I didnt get that feeling since I get his special unit. What do you think?

I don't use any healing item with Mori. Instead I have increased his crit rate. In the long run it will increase his Archer adaptability as well. Probably he is good at leading cavalry units too. But I have 3 good cavalry generals, and very few decent Archers. Namely only one - Chosokabe. So, I don't feel like transferring Mori to Cavalry would be a great decision. But if someone has Tokugawa, it is possible to give him Horse Archers since his specialized unit really sucks...

Yeah I have Tokugawa and I was thinking using Mounted archers on him but then I cant really upgrade him. Right now with his active skill on Tokugawa hits like a cannon but above 3 stars I think purple generals will succeed him. I will let you know if I experiment further. Its a New week and we have plenty of battles ahead 🙂

Bc MA is a tank unit. Since dmg is not reduced with health I use him offensively. Every point hp that doesnt get tanked away from damaging sb more fragile is a waste 😆 similarily as we somtimes used timur, putting MA in front of a bunch of infantry or teppo (bc archer still counterattacks) they get messed up by MA on AI turn, of course splash dmg and debuff active skill first. Now we could do this with any archer gen, actually it doesnt need to be Mori specifically, as he will only shine once 6th skill allows him to heal (maybe twice per turn with MA) and go do the same over again. His 2. passive skill regens morale which counters/slows down getting hit multiple times in a turn, avoiding stun. Got carried away lost my train of thought, all to say: I gave him heal item to make up for the lack of 6th skill for now and DO use him with MA since he is so tanky this way. A gen that might have some skill that gives extra counterattack dmg might arguebaly be better still, but would definitely need the heal item unlike high rank Mori maybe.

I believe Plundering Provisions works in defense as well as in offense, so, it is another opportunity to recover 8 percent of health. I gave my healing scrolls to cavalry just to see for how long is Mori able to survive without his 5th skill unlocked and he is pretty solid even without it. With PP he will be unkillable.

I was just checking "counterattack archer gens" and though i have neither, both chosokabe and kikkawa have [Liam Neeson voice] "a very particular set of skills" that dont rely upon them initiating attacks, and / or regenerating morale/health or debuffing morale in counterattack

I'm encountering some similar choices in my game - In 100 rolls I can get Hojo, my last f2p Legendary Story general currently available. But along the way I'd get very little else: a set of Mori or Akechi (I've already got Mori), a set of Meada, and the rest are middling purples that I'm not very interested in. I'd also have to spend 2400 ban-kin to get the necessary rolls right now, with no more ready sources of magatama, and I do already have Otomo Sorin at 1 Star.
Any thoughts from those that have Hojo? Is he worth it or should I sit on my nest egg until the next update?

But since you already have Sorin I can't say that getting your second Artillery general at this stage is profitable. Only in conquests two Artillery generals are doing well, one of them is enough elsewhere. But presumably you don't have any problems in conquests.

I'm not as far along as some others, but FWIW, I have both Hojo and Sorin, if all you want is an artillery general then there's not a lot between them. Hojo's active is better but Sorin has an extra level and a better special unit. Hojo's level 6 skill will eventually be slightly OP but that's a long way away. I believe Hojo's chapter is recommended for farming, but that's probably not that important since you have the others unlocked. All that to say - if you've got Sorin, Hojo isn't a priority unless you want a second artillery for conquests.
