Yet another navy general with 4/5 good skills. I will give him some slack for Naval Assault being very powerful, so he's about a 4.5 out of 5 for me.

Does His unique skill work with carrier attacks? Think nö, but if somebody could try it, i would be happy.

I gave him a 5 because he is (I think) the only general with the naval equivalent of armored assault/accuracy/raider.

Counterattack: Yes Attack: No (Carrier attacks are air raids and affected by airforce ability & skills) Tested against Eisenhower equipped with identical ribbons and skill medals on non-elite carrier, all attacks falls between 80-120.

Yamaguchi's Naval Assault gives +40% damage.Along with his Assault skill and maxed out Early warning he doesn't die in battle...he doesn't even loose his hp sometimes ...In my opinion Yamaguchi with Fleet leader and Rumour along with maxed out Raeder with sailor and rumour>>>Nimitz and Donitz.

Yamaguchi is kinda designed for the Carrier elite units. I would build fleet leader and sailor or carpetbombing. But i think it is better with sailor. Let the enemy kill itself by attacking the carrier.

Let the enemy kill itself by attacking the carrier. Not very practical though, because submarines can’t be counterattacked, while cruisers and battleships can out range you. Moreover, I doubt the counter damage would be high enough to be meaningful.

(At lvl 9) but you start with two attacks. Check the stats in challenge conquest If your not US or Japan.

Still, I don’t see the practicality of a counter-oriented carrier in most cases because the biggest strength of a carrier is its fleet air arms that can strike enemies well outside conventional engagement range, so why go knife fighting when you have gun and enough ammo on hand?

Yes, my idea is maybe unconventional. I will try it, when i unlock the elite unit. I Just wanna make use of the skill potential. Not just let him sit home and waste His unique skill. Maybe a test will prove me wrong.

Has anyone tried Yamaguchi on the Mi-24 Hind and noticed if his specialty Naval Assault skill would work on enemy at sea from this chopper?

Has anyone tried Yamaguchi on the Mi-24 Hind and noticed if his specialty Naval Assault skill would work on enemy at sea from this chopper? That skill works on ships and the Hind is classed as an Air unit, though. The enemy-only version for air attacks should work.

After considering that the Naval Assault only works for naval attacks, and activates in counter attack, making it passive/active and offensive, according to resiphius, Ive concluded Yamaguchi is ideal for an elite carrier which would allow for this Naval Assault skill to not be wasted, due to its +2 range. Sailor and carpet bombing are the skills one could use for him on the Enterprise/Akagi...and his air (and early warning), would keep him safe as ASW (anti-sub warf.) from subs. I admit that the Naval Assault skill would have been great on a pure Navy skipper like Raeder or Donitz though. Too bad Yamaguchi has Air fleet skill, though both work on an Elite carrier which is good.
I was considering dropping Helfrich for him...or Mikawa, but i have Yamamoto and Nimitz. 🤔
Looks like i will wait yet again for new generals in the updates and put ...trading Wainwright, Schmidhuber, and for Arnold (who would do well on Hind/typhoon) and Helfrich for another Navy commander on backburner for now.
Upgrading new generals is a slow process, so i dont want to get caught in the middle. Arnold for Schmidhuber and Wainwright seems like a safe bet though. Any other overlooked thoughts on this topic?
