Why crerar? Is it because of the plain fighting lvl4 meaning 5* attack with arty/tanks on that terrain?

i have 1440 medals, should i buy crerar then save for an arty general (is bai chongxi good, he has 3* arty + lvl2 plain fighting + 4* movement as well as lvl2 arty barrage)
i know badoglio is good starter general (lvl2 arty barrage, lvl4 arty leader, lvl2 explosives with 4* arty but he has only 2* movement) govorov is also good but the 2 problems are his movement (1*) and the price (~1900medals, meaning you could buy 3, nearly 4 crerars for that)

Badoglio has lost its importance due to addition of challenge conquests which made earning medals easier. As for Bai, yes he's good, although a new competitor named Sikorski will make you consider between the two.

You'll need both Govorov and Sikorski anyways, and the points that you mentioned are valid but only applicable in late game, so when you first purchase them Govorov is still superior.

Honestly, after ace commander becomes available and EC skills can be individually reset without dismissing him, my Govorov had become merely dust collector, especially when I built both my tank and artillery ECs in what I call “super Crerar” configuration (the 3rd EC was originally artillery-AF, but becomes 30-star jack-of-all-trade with “super Crerar” skill set now).
