New update, I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!
Finally, the famed Miyamoto Musashi and his rival Sasaki Kojiro have decided to show their faces. And Tokugawa Ieyasu gets a library. I really feel for Mitsuhide now, with this update making him and Hideyoshi the only two gold generals without a library.
I'm curious what this Martial Arena thing is. It sounds like some boss rush thing unique from the expeditions, guess I'll have to wait and see for screenshots.
Well, I suppose patience is a virtue... even though I want it now.

Martial arena sounds very much like the arena from GCR. Out of all the updates I'm most excited about finally getting Sword Master. Nobutsuna about to be unstoppable (I might just do something insane and spark him from level 5 all the way to level 6).

A mid-sized campaign culminating in the famed Battle of Sekigahara.
It's very sound to end the series with the namesake mission. I guess if we want the other battles related to the Sekigahara Campaign, but outside of the Osaka Campaigns, we'll have to play the Hero Legends. For example, Masamune, Ginchiyo and Yukimura.
If I'm not mistaken, it looks like the presumably IAP gen Musashi is required for the two bonds. Though, if ET makes Musashi a F2P gen with IAP equipment, it's not surprising, just weird.
A new challenge series for those who fight them. Good luck, challengers.

Musashi isn't an IAP? That's odd, but it's really nice if that's true. I see that the update is indeed out on iOS but not yet for Android, so I suppose I'll have to wait and see. It should be quick since ET has been awfully quick with keeping both versions in sync with each other.
Perhaps the swordsmen are now actually viable instead of defaulting to cavalry every time. I sure hope that infantry is finally getting their fair share, after facing so much insults from us due to their often lackluster performance vis-à-vis the other units. It seems that the Musashi-Nobutsuna-Munetoshi bond is actually pretty good, increased probability of crits and damage of crits is pretty good. Musashi-Kojiro looks pretty useless as it depends on keeping our units still. No clue what Musashi and Kojiro's skills are, although I have to guess that at least the former should have something really good. Both should be usable at the very least, and we'll see if either is worth a direct spark using my huge stockpile of blue flames.
Also I finally took a look at the art, and EasyTech has outdid themselves once again. Kojiro and Musashi both look stunning. I'm charmed.

So in the arena you have to go up against these three guys. It’s three levels with each of them in the center, and you get to use 6 guys for each level and you only get to use them once. So you’re gonna need atleast 18 guys on 18 different units. The first boss has a permanent -75% damage taken from melee attacks buff. The second one has -75% damage taken from ranged attacks. The last one has -99% damage taken from teppo. So the first boss should be dealt with by teppo, then a mix of melee units, then whatever you have left (but no teppo). It’s kinda annoying that I couldn’t see that the last guy was immune to teppo attacks before I started. So I went at him with 2 teppo gens. I’m gonna get a bit serious and invest in the Swordmaster so I can beat this more reliably.

Honestly though, this is pretty trivial. Just go at them with sensible units and you’ll win. I totally didn’t need to get the Swordmaster for this. (Though I would have gotten it anyway for conquest so no big deal.

He’s a really good infantryman but he’ll have to be atleast rank 4 before he really takes off. Kojiro is at Munetoshi’s level, so not very good for me.
