Is it me or does only beating the source of the invasion gives us War Points? It does indeed. I think the invasion is annoying, the rebels units have more levels than ours but the rewards are a few coins for each minor battles, and medals for the final.

Honestly am just nuking the main starts and ignoring the others, the hassle is not worth the 500 coins it gives I thought that defeating the small castles around will weaken the enemy and increase more War Points. How wrong am I! IMO, it might be worth it if they disrupt a Wonder and the bonus is desireable. I did wonder why the spread do not count towards points. But, this makes things straightforward for us: just cut off the invasion at its origin.

An aggressive origin this time. The enemies will turn our allies after reducing their castle HP to 0. At the start of Turn 3 or 4, 4-5 enemy reinforcements invaded the field. After turning the troops of the 3 garrison positions, they will attack our positions. Only the troops in the garrison will not move. A fierce battle that demanded elite gens with high statuses and equipment.

Got the same battle at Gassantoda. The arty gens can hit hard. I saw one of the white cannons hit for close to 500 dmg. The same gen has about 1/4 - 1/4 rank upgrades as well.
This is not very balanced, IMO. It means players might be expected to pay for both Rank and gacha at the same time. (Even if the Rank upgrades seem to give small benefits.)
Won by switching Tadakatsu for Yoshihisa. Added a strategy of actively denying accesses to the city because my prior 2 losses were due to the loss of the keep.
I think keeping enemies out of the outer walls and manning those walls allows the keep's HP to br regenerated. This could distract the DoP or any arty unit, but we're still not out of the woods yet.

These invasions are impossible, I just started the game and their troops are several levels higher. Now, a very large chunk of my empire is taken by them and I can't do anything

I don't really know what ET expects me to do, my generals are mostly all one star and the only good unit I have (sword master) is lvl 2. The enemies are all lvl 7+ and I get surrounded and killed immediately. And that's the branch invasions, the main invasion has up to lvl 13 units with generals.
I guess invasions in previous ET games didn't feel like "invasions" because you could just ignore them and they don't do anything, but I would much prefer that to losing a quarter of my territory and income to some invincible enemy. I guess my only option is to beat campaign to level up my troops which sucks because in the meantime I am losing a ton of coins each day.

Invasion is tough! One thing I noticed is that if you win the non-source battles first, the invasion source city battle becomes much easier. If you win the source city battle first all the other infected cities disappear. I suspect I'll have 100s of those kylo ren helmets before I upgrade my gens. Too many other things to spend Ban Kin on. Faced a tough source battle today. Ran out of time to wear the enemy down in under 20 turns. If I relied on counterattacks, my gens would perish first. Right now, I'm clearing the spillover. It seems to wear the source down by ~100 - ~200 HP per spillover cleared. There's probably a percentage to this. I think Shōgun Ieyasu might give a better output based on skills than young Matsudaira. If the 2nd skin is used and he stays in the same position, he constantly has a +25% atk up in every turn compared to a 150% strong attack after losing a turn.

Once you realize that, this one is pretty straightforward.

Once you realize that, this one is pretty straightforward. In this / today's invasion, I think that splitting them and the map into two is necessary for efficiency. Splitting them is arguably even more important at the tactical level to eliminate nearby enemies before the captain is defeated and buffs nearby allies with +500 HP and 10 atk. Though, I do concentrate a squad to focus fire as needed.

Splitting the map into two is definitely not necessary, I cleared it with several turns to spare without, and I think it makes managing attacks to minimize the buffs very difficult (note that the buff applies to *everyone*, not just nearby units). Tactically, yes, obviously, but the tactics are a lot simpler to manage with your forces concentrated.
