The golden ages were actually during the Tang and Song dynasties in China. The Han was definitely a great period for China as well, but not as much as these later periods. The Qing was probably the most humiliating dynasty for the Chinese. In fact, the period between the first Opium War to the communist victory in the Chinese Civil War is called the Century of Humiliation by the Chinese. They may have created a modernish army, but this army was weak compared to the Europeans, Americans or the Japanese.

Here's what I know of Chinese History: Civil War Civil War Civil War Civil War Civil War If they weren't never united into one land, it would be more similar to European history of kingdom vs kingdom. China today could have been a "second Europe" with many fragmented nations. But they have less mountainous regions forcing people to develop their own different ways in early history. China would be more similar to Mesopotamia or Nile in comparison to Europe even if China didn't unified into one country.

You know, thats one thing that has always puzzled me is why China is not like that today. I mean there are definitely cultural differences between the people in China (Manchu in Manchuria, Uighur in Xinjiang, Tibetan in Tibet, the people of Yunnan, etc. etc.). I would assume it is because of Mao Zedong's centralization of China, but even then i am surprised why it hasn't split yet.

China is like this country everbody wonders why it's united still. Technically .............. Europe is mostly united, the EU.............ha ha ha ha ha haha ha ha ha ha. United, with whom? The EU is completely different, the members of the EU are sovereign, independent nations. China is all one country, but it has personally baffled me as to how China has remained united and as big as it is with all the different ethnic and religious groups living within. That would be like if Ireland conquered all of Europe despite a large portion of Europe being Protestant, Orthodox, Muslim, or Jewish, and with all the different ethnic groups living in Europe. Not all of China is ethnic Chinese, quite a bit is Manchu, Tibetan, Uigher, Mongol, etc. For these reasons, idk why they're still united. If someone could give me a reason, then ill stop wondering this.

That's why no one who wants to rule does not argue and force in the local religion, and own thoughts.
'If people want to believe in Shrimp- let them, religion is private subject of EVERY single person "
Sun Tzu
...but yes, I agree, that Europe has totally diferent way f keeping peace, doing agreements etc. than Asia , USA and Africa. Jean Lannes ....And according to your 's Mostly Asians have completelly different Way of doing progress in life , and it is not easy to change philosophy that precedes Europe in hundreds of years. First try to read Confucius , then Lao Tze and lastly Guan Zi- you'll find :Confucianism, Taoism and Legalism that become real looong time ago. Europeans are totally different and they easily step on the other's nations paths. China had blood baths many times in past , now they win economically with Europe and U.S with hard work and non giving for free.
