Well, just made an account just for this, but here are my top countries so far.
1939: Finland was Easy: take Leningrad and riga, then moscow, after this I mostly just had to map up. Take over Sweden after Moscow. My first country ever which I won so was very confusing but use these tips and you should be fine.

1943: Lost my first time but am using Egypt (240 medal for winning wow) Japan and Germany Abuse Paratroopers, save New Delhi or you're in trouble

1950: Russia was the only one I could win as but it was easy as Russia. Focus on Europe but defend the East and then clean up the East. Americas last. Take Africa early on, should be easy.

1960: Ummm I used Bulgaria so yeah. Take over Greece and Istanbul then destroy all enemies. I can't really remember what I did, but all your Commander's WILL die early, that's ok.

1975: Impossible for me with my lv 7 tanks, Artillery and lv 3 all others...

After gaining some cities, you can easily destroy your enemies.

These world conqueror 3 countries were selected based on how many weak neutrals are around (to gobble them up),how far to the main battle theaters, their force distribution around the world,nuke capable or not,super tank capable or not and on other factors like how many imminent threats are they under.

Some eras seem to favor sides, this is just an impression.

UK is my BAE for any human conquest because of their presence in critical theatres and you can always apply Sword-And-Shield tactics to beat back WTO in your 3 European fronts and 1-3 fronts in Asia in 1950.
