I love the countries with troops around the globe for it makes it easier to win but for some reason I always forget about Donitz and his wolfpack in the Atlantic while playing as Germany 1939.

Yeah, they always cause trouble...Nothing a few submarines can't fix but that usually ends up costing a decent bit of money:/

I always forget about Dönitz, every time I play as Germany I forget him 'til I see someone did damage to my troops in Bordeaux, I look. It's a carrier and next to it is (the remaining part) Dönitz's fleet

The British troops in Arabia can be more useful than you might think. Use them to either (re)capture Stalingrad or take Athens

Adding from a discussion on starting out on the first few turns in a 1950 conquest. It also covers the situation where the AI tends to launch missles without nuclear warheads every turn and using paratroopers against you.
-------------------------------------------
You should use nukes mainly to take out the greatest dangers only in the beginning.
Do rely heavily on field artillery or rocket trucks. Build one, then try move it out of the city quickly to avoid enemy missles rendering your own firepower useless.
As for that city? Put something like a motorized infantry in there temporarily to bear the possible attacks then next turn try to spawn an artillery/rocket and move it out of there and move the infantry back into the city.
The infantry's purpose in this tactic is to spilt the missle damage between damage toward the unit and the damage toward the city itself. If the city's hp is drained too fast, the enemy can suddenly nuke (or just plain bombing) the city and drop a paratrooper into it.
You would need your artillery's help to kill the enemy trooper and move one of your other surviving infantrymen close by into the city to retake it.
Try to think of it as a dance between an intelligent human and a dumb AI. Similar principle as playing Sid Meier's Civilization games.

I was playing 60 Italy, had killed nearly all of WTO in Europe and 60% Russia, then I went to Siberia and China to kill whatever was left, while sending all units I even sent Vatutin there. After a few phases I look back to see vatutin as to how was he doing....... I checked the entire map and he was nowhere His last known position was quite ahead of Moscow, he was heading to Xinjiang You all are free to guess what happened to him

Mountbatten he is not the only one who can't eat them you too can't. Nuke me and see if I get one shotted I think the only way to do it is to play as Axis in 1943, kill the US, and then get in range to missile my ship in Thailand. I might die first though.
