It is clearly just that you have different intelligence than those who has lived the horror of USSR, the song is not anti Russia it is to remember those who were deported and killed in 1941. Hang on, are you implying that he isn't as intelligent as people who lived through the horrors of the Soviet Union, or that he is interpreting the song differently than how it was meant to be interpreted? I doubt its the former, but i just want to make sure. I don't watch Eurovision (because I'm American), but how are Germany, Ireland and Norway doing? I am talking about a way of thinking. He just can't understand things that didn't happen in his country.

Poland had a copy paste song... Ukraine is the true champion!!! Australia... I still don't understand why they got that much points... Russia... Too many Russians everywhere and they are too hated to win... The rest was simply one and the same style...

This was no song contest, but a political contest... If such a bad song can win.... worst eurovision song ever that won

Okay, sounds all fine and good, but i have one more question: Why is Australia in Eurovision if they're halfway across the earth? And therefore, are the other british commonwealth nations like Canada and New Zealand involved as well?

Idk about Canada and New Zealand since I didn't watch it for 3 years but I'm guessing it's due to historical reasons

Pretty awsome show, here is Ukraine great lighting effects and strong feels: Not to be outdone here is Russia with pretty cool special effects as well: Just for fun, after you listen to them seperatly you can run both videos at the same time This competition started out as strictly European but now many other countries from around the world (like South Korea) want to participate. This event is not just about songs,it is considered an artistic and political forum in which countries can project soft power and influence to a worldwide audience.

Okay, sounds all fine and good, but i have one more question: Why is Australia in Eurovision if they're halfway across the earth? And therefore, are the other british commonwealth nations like Canada and New Zealand involved as well? Australia is still part of united kingdom and Canada and any other ex British province is not anymore

Actually it was considered political voting and it showed that east Europe (actually most of Europe) is against Russia.
