The difference between Oudinot and Dobeln is quite easy to evaluate.
Dobeln: missing Formation
Oudinot: missing mass fire
To fix the missing mass fire, you can buy a snare drum (630 gold)
To fix the missing mass fire, you can buy a brown bess (160 gold)
This means, Dobeln becomes cheaper. But even more: you can use a Ferguson rifeln instead of the brown bess (565 gold, still cheaper than snare drum). Then Dobeln does even more damage than Oudinot. But Oudinot is the best choice after Dobeln (and Dobeln is best choice after Victoria - as I dont count generals for which I have to pay real money because of needed emblems).

I prefer Dobeln to Oudinot because Dobeln is more flexible with choices of item (any combo of rifle, armor, boots, crown, book). Oudinot is pretty useless without Snare Drum so he practically has only one item slot free. With drunken brawler skill, he has 15% chance to deal critical damage and 25% chance to dodge enemy's hit but need to visit a city with tavern once in a while to keep the skill active.  |

mainr reason I prefer Lan is due to her leadership and training, when lasalle is critically dmged, he cam only eat a health pack, but lan can train several times to increase health, and aft a few training shes back slaughtering everyone.

Y'know what the thing is? Lasalle actually has nothing on her. Mobility=0 and Sailor is so situational it can be ignored, so Lasalle is Surprise and Strike, which are 2 (only 2) of Lan's 4 skills |
