General Analysis for Pacific War

Field Marshals

Zhukov: Best All round Land field General, recommended due to variety of battlefields he can go on, yet only buy if you want to grind that many Medals

Osami: Best Air/Navy General, and those Air stars + Navy stars makes him quite formidable, Yet like all marshals, only buy if you will be willing to grind many medals

@coolguy14 : Sorry Dwight, but he is a very bad all-rounder. Whoever wants a land all-rounder can get Zhukov, and whoever wants Air and Navy can get Osami or some other cheap generals so not recommended.

Four Star Generals

Erich von Manstein : He wasn’t recommended in GOG, so how will this make a difference? Not recommended

Chuikov: Napoleon Bonaparte is superior to all in Artillery so not recommended

Rokossovsky: Same as manstein so not recommended

Shunroku: Same as Chuikov, Not recommended. BTW, this guy replaces Rundstedt in GOGP

Macarthur: Yes he is much more useful in GOGP, but still won’t recommend him. Vasilevsky is still better than all

Nimitz: A hundred medals more than Yamamoto, just for a useless infantry star. Not recommended

Yamamoto: Slightly recommended, but still I advise, it may not be worth the grind though

Montgomery: His stars may look nice, but really, Manstein is better than him. Not recommended

Three Star Generals

Guderian: Good ol Guderian, still is a good tank general as usual so recommended if you want an infantry+Great tank general hybrid.

Rommel: Best Tank General of the game, with 4* tanks and 3* artillery, what more could you ask? Recommended

Patton: Yes He is a good tank general, but seriously, for 14 more medals, you can get Guderian who has 3* infantry compared to 2*. Mildly recommended

Vasilevsky: Best infantry general in the Game, Definitely recommended

Arnold: Best Air general so recommended

Alexander/Tassigny: Still like Chuikov and Shunroku, inferior to Govorov. Not recommended

Mountbatten and Darlan: Navy gens. Get Osami/Yamamoto/Fletcher/Jisaburo and even Shigegeyoshi. Not recommended

Yamashita and Okamura: Not recommended even though decent, Vasilevsky is far above them

Konev: Zhukov Jr, so recommended if you want a multi role general

Paulus: Bad stars and a huge cost, not recommended

Graziani: Worse than Paulus so not recommended

Two star generals

Fletcher: Great Navy gen for a cheap price, but do be warned. Navy gens are only best at Pacific war scenarios and not that great onwards
Timoshenko: Rushing to hell, He’s Zhukov junior as well, but slightly recommended

Bradley: Inferior to Vatutin and the three star rank Tank gens so not recommended

Donitz: No air stars? Not recommended

Mannerheim: Not recommended due to low health and weak stars

Smigly: Inferior to Govorov so not recommended

Bock: Inferior to Vasilevsky, Liang and Kuribiyashi so not recommended

Walker: Inferior to Vatutin and Rommel so not recommended

Leeb: Weak arty general and inferior to Govorov so not recommended

Nanbu and Jisaburo: Good navy and air gens but Jisaburo is better as he is cheaper than Nanbu

Stilwell: Worthless general. Not recommended

Gamelin: Like Stilwell. Not recommended

Messe: Good but inferior to Vatutin, so not recommended

Lin: No chinese generals are recommended except Liang who is an exception

Du: Awful general. Not recommended

Portal: Greim is cheaper and better on land. Not recommended

Vatutin, Govorov and Kuribayashi.

The mildly recommended ones are:
- Simonds(a rather weak navy-land general)
- Weygand(well, Seishiro has 2 stars on Artillery and Seishiro is one medal cheaper than Weygand, but the health difference is considerable. Besides, if you'll probably use them on tanks only, get Weygand)
- Collins(cheapest 3 stars artillery general, but if you doesn't mind grinding for more medals, get Govorov)

For Colonels like Seishiro, I recommend:
- Seishiro(cheapest 3 stars tank general and he has 2 stars on Artillery(!), but if you're going to use him on tanks only, get Weygand or Vatutin)
- Isakov(cheapest 3 stars navy general plus 1 star on Air, but after the Pacific War scenarios, he would be rather useless)
- Liang(4 stars on Infantry(!!!), but he is useless on other units)
