Without evasion of terrain, Davout deal same damage as Moreau and that's the only condition Davout can reach Moreau damage. The good thing of Davout is versatile, not because he's irreplacable. And Poniatowski is the most versatile general if you want to talk about hybrid generals. Yes but you have to regroup Poniatowski a lot to get him to be great in all aspects. |

Yes, same to Berthier. They have long way to go to become great generals. But when they are maxed out, using them is great pleasure (I got max Berthier and max art/cav/move/trade Poniatowki - but now im playing WC3 so Ponia needs long time to be maxed out)

When I'm at work, i have my little bro to grind for me and he get about 400 medals in my working time (he do it when he has free time). When at home and get free time, i watch movie or reading book, i grind about 100-120 medals / hour. Do save / load in conquest. Make a good save which you can hit 8-10 times / turn and short distance (1-2 hexes) of moving, and do save / load. Other people don't like save / load immediately, they just continue conquest to collect medals for few turn then load again. But follow my way, i get used to controlling and i even don't need to look at screen for grinding, when watching movie, my fingers do exactly what i want ^^! |

As a owner of both I can say:
Moreau:One of the best Arty general around, great output but he is only arty and kinda slow. I tend to use him every conquest, mostly on heavy artillery.
Davout:Great hybrid general, I also use him often, mostly on light artillery so I can make full usage of Geography. Extremely solid general, also has a high output.
I would buy both, but if you are tight on emblems I say Davout, since he is extremely flexible.

You can find a list of cheap trainers here though EW4 General Analysis, though Kutaisov seems like your best option if you want to train him in Arty. |

I'm suprised people vote Davout. I think that he's actually pretty bad to be spending emblems on. I would take Moreau everyday of the week month and year
