My violin teacher was teaching the class 1812 overture which was written to celebrate France being defeated inthe Russian Campaign. He then went on talking about how Napoleon was an evil dictator, a bad general and it was a good thing for France that he was removed from power. Lol

Facepalm moments...well, in my AP Class, most of the time, people are just messing around when they're saying stupid stuff or its stuff that isn't obvious, such as this one kid asking what were the Tanzimat Reforms (Not so obvious) or, when my teacher asked "Who was the Macedonian general who conquered from Greece to Persia?", one of the smarted kids in the class said "Robert E. Lee" (This time, as a joke). There are some stupid questions though. Most kids in the class didn't even know Egypt was in Africa until we got to the Scramble for Africa The absolute worst, though, was when one of the kids, in a presentation about the Mughal leader Akbar the Great, stated that Akbar created Sikhism...yeah... Akbar creating Sikhism -_- , tell them he created the "Din-e-Illahi" (literally translates to "The Religion of God". You guys must've studied about it? (Considering we're talking about Akbar AND a religion here).

Another one of my facepalm moments.
So in class four in my country they teach you the Pythagoras Theorem (now, if you don't know. Yes a class in Pakistan is roughly equal to what our fellow Americans will call as a "grade") and then this theorem comes back (in full swing) in classes 8 and 10 (full applications of it and what not) so our teachers are like;
"You all must remember the Pythagoras Theorem right?"
"No" the majority replies.
"Well you must've studied it in the Fourth?"
And an eerie silence follows..... (Derp)
I also just realized that back when I was in Class 10, only three guys (not counting girls, they had a separate section. Dunno why?) Out of roughly 37 were able to speak English grammatically and fluently (me being one of them!) While the rest STILL struggle to this day!

The people who think Africa is a country The people who think the language is Mexican not Spanish The people who think the US is the largest country The people who think America is one country (not two continents) The people who think Switzerland is the same as Sweden The people who think London is a country (yes I have met such people) The people who think Sydney is the capital of Australia The person who was born in Australia, lived her whole life in Australia, lived in Jervis Bay (which is technically a part of the Australian CAPITAL Territory) who when visiting Canberra (the capital) thought that DARWIN was the capital. The people who think North Korea is South Korea (when pointing at a map) The people who think Russia is communist The people who think Scotland is independent The Americans who can't label any of bits of the U.K. (England, Scoland, Northen Ireland, Wales) on a map (some put Northen Ireland as England). Note to self: must find that video again The people who think Europe is a country The people who think Texas is a country The people who think Yugoslavia still exists The people who think Poland is a part of Germany My friend who when asked to name a country in Asia starting with J answers "Jamacia" and refuses to accept that Japan is a part of Asia (even when shown a map).

When people ask me north or south when I tell them I'm from Korea. Well there are North Koreans outside Korea, particularly in Japan, but considering the demographics that's still pretty facepalm. also Jean-Luc Picard, but swishcrum IS a nationality Finally, let's not make fun of people who still think Yugoslavia is a country, they are stuck in a time warp. Very sad desease, nearly uncurable. Well, to add something from myself, long ago I went to school in Calgary. Because we moved from london Ontario, the kids made fun of us, said we were British. They refused to admit that London Ontario really exists, and that we didn't have an accent. Worst school ever.

The people who think Pakistan is in Central Asia (NO it's not)
The people who think Pakistan is in the Middle East (NO, again).
We're South Asians, not Central Asians OR Middle Easterners.

True Luigi, that's the odd thing. Actually, it covers more in Africa than WC3, whose scope IS the whole world. Though I haven't progressed past empire to see what happens to the continent later. EW4 gets away with it, since America was integral to the wider Napoleonic wars. Some imagine the Implications for WC4, if it ever happens, and I hope it learns from this one, just without the silly city by city combat system.
Just remembered, EW3 has much events in Asia as well, judging by what we know of the final eras including some of the same events. Maybe this new game is hearkening back to tradition, rather than destroying it.
I might add some facepalms later, but I have to come up with good and not political ones. Well, as a not historical one, A kid in college once said "whats a textbook" I still don't know what was up with that.
Actually, I can turn that into a historical face....victory? Ok, so the same kid sees my map of Byzantium on my laptop screen. He asks about it, I tell him what it is. Then he states that the ottomans took it over, right? I'm pretty sure I had nothing about the ottomans on my screen, and as you can guess I didn't expect such an intelligent response to just appear, only incessant questions.
