I think I'll make a Trafalgar medal grinding guide later. Excellent. All the better if it's as the British and doesn't rely on having powerful naval generals from the Academy. All too often, the expert players suggest grinds that depend on having strong academy generals, but in order to have strong academy generals you must first have done a lot of grinding (if you don't want to spend real money). I need to develop a saltin style grind for my android platform, which should be easier to do than on Kindle as I will have the time to be patient, get all my tavern generals out, and methodically neutralise Sweden and Denmark before I set off on my grinding trip so they don't get in my way. Then I can regroup my one useless general I bought while still a noob and fill some of the slots with some real talent before I go off chasing princesses. I do wish we had more save slots. 1. You can only play Trafalgar as the British. 2. I find Tavern generals aren't needed for grinds, but you do you.

It would have been fun to see whether it was possible for the Franco-Spanish force to win against a competent AI. 2. My call is the more, the merrier. And it certainly helps if you don't currently have powerful generals of your own, at least in terms of keeping AI generals off your back so that the grinders are not disturbed in their work and so that you can quickly conquer enemy cities, farms and factories to get their resources. Sure you want the nobility and rank gains to go primarily to your Academy generals, but medals are always good to have, and wholesale slaughter in a target-rich environment gets you those faster if you have more heavy hitters. In fact, there might be something to be said for not assigning your generals and making the game save until after you have your grinding cities set up and ready to go; then you can assign whoever you want. After all, you probably aren't going to finish the game with the same generals you started it with.

Hello, I discover this nice forum and this topic ! I created my "grind" with Europe 1816 / Russia. One question to be sure I well undestood. This method enable us to gain many medals. When you say to increase Rank and Nobility for General, is it by update (with acquired medals), or "automatically", because I get medals but not automatic Rand/Nobility increase ? Castelanu.

Welcome to our forum castelnau , Yes you can increase your generals rank and nobility by using medals but we do not recommend that. As a generals kills units, his rank and nobility automatically goes up. I think that is what saltin would have meant.

Generals rise in rank automatically for damage done.
They also rise (albeit significantly more slowly) in nobility for every farm, town, artillery factory, stable or port occupied, and (AFAIK from limited experimentation) for every unit they deliver the killing shot to.
Unless you have VAST numbers of medals (and by that I mean TENS OF THOUSANDS), you shouldn't waste them on upgrading generals' rank and nobility. Use them to buy better generals, or to buy items those generals can use to make them stronger.

And in the same way, if the game is saved at year 80, we continue to grind during 99+ more years. So the interest to restart at 80 is on lui to train other generals later ?

I have been grinding on my iPad as France (russians are surrounded in budapest and british in Belgium region) and have upgraded Arnold from 36 to 54, and Dumoriez from 28 to 36. If you look at their profile beneath the portrait you should see their levels increasing slowly, colour green.
I'm not sure about your question meaning. I believe if you get rid of your general (if you plan to), you can place another general that you just got. But its been awhile so I'm not sure about that. On android you can farm for hundreds of turns, and I am currently on turn 150 on my iPad.

So I loaded up this grind again last night, which I have saved at around Turn 73, and I played it out to Turn 99 - as high as my Kindle will go. Without me surging into France and causing it massive problems, France has the time and resources to conquer Great Britain - which it succeeds in doing around turn eighty-something. Shortly after that, around Turn 90, there is a HUGE flood of Frenchmen storming east through the North Sea, to land on the northwest coast of Europe. There is also a massive accumulation of Turks and one of the North African powers which converges on, and conquers, Egypt, and if you can get a couple of strong generals or a fleet of warships down there, it provides a huge source of medal grinding. Just beware of the French warships hidden amongst all of that, which will come out and attack you. Be sure to have a couple of battleships or ironclads, or some rocket artillery, standing by to fight them off. If you have 999 turns and can take the time to assemble all this and also starve the Turks into paralysed stupor, you can make a real killing. Even playing it out as long as I did, I got a huge flood of medals out of it and was able to pick up a better general. Thank you again, saltin,

Thank you again, saltin , Further to the above, if Egypt fails (or rather, in 999 turn variants WHEN it fails), all the gazillion North African nations who were gathering round it come pouring onto the shores of Turkey, Greece, Crete, and through the straits between Crete and North Africa. If you have prepositioned appropriate units ashore waiting for them (machine guns, armoured cars, etc. and warships in the straits), you can do quite horrific damage.

And this is my Sophia's personal training ground. Since AI puts forts in this formation, I have Sophia on heavy artillery sitting in the middle. She will blow the forts off really fast from retaliating their attacks. Warning: Sophia needs to be strong enough. Which scenario is this, and how long do I have to wait before the wall of forts is constructed? I have Sophia up to maximum strength (150/10), so now it's Isabela's turn to shine.

I have a similar setup, but instead of having Sophia command artillery, I had her command armored cars.

How do you increase the general's Health (green bar) forgot what it is called, is it nobility or rank?

How do you increase the general's Health (green bar) forgot what it is called, is it nobility or rank? It’s rank. It’s increases as your general inflicts damage.
