What I meant was because Australia and New Zealand are historically a colony an thus part of the U.K. At this time, I was wondering if (provide no one else wants them. If someone else does I'm happy to step aside) I would be permitted to have Australia as mine in addition to the UK. Technically at this start date the Commonwealth of Australia does not exist. There are the colonies of Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland etc but no such thing as the Commonwealth of Australia (Australia's formal name). Even if it was for the sake of this RP independent it would still be subject to the British Empire (historically Australian and New Zealand troops were commanded by British officers mainly) or it might fight a war against the UK for independence but even with foreign support very few people in the Austrlian colonies would support breaking away from the empire as most were, at this time very pro British. Unless if you are willing to prevent the Commonwealth of Australia constitution act (which was passed in July of 1900) in the 1900 start date, which would actually IRL only delay a planned process for federation that had been going since the late 1880s, and if you wanted to keep Australia you might have to put up with increased opposition to being treated as a colony, I suggest that Australia being federated being a event, which will result in semi-autonomy for Australia (perhaps being in permanent alliance, with all military and external affairs being handled by the UK, but independent in terms of econ and resources?). I won't stop the Federation but yes I will only give it Semi-Autonomy. |

I will take Russia. After all, I have a thing for "saving" crumbling empires. And 1900 is before the Russo-Japanese War started. I can prevent Tsushima. @coolguy14 , I have an issue with this. The USA, which had an isolationist stance for nearly the entirety of the First World War until 1917 is a major player, while countries like Bulgaria and Romania (joined in 1915 and 1916 respectively) is not even on the list. USA should be a minor power instead of a major power, IMO. Added to that, IMO Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Italy needs to be player-controlled, at least before WWI. The wars before WWI that had relevance were the Italo-Turkish War, where Italy and Ottomans fought over Libya and the Balkan Wars, in which the Balkan League divided Ottoman territories in the Balkans and then had an Invade Bulgaria Day. They're important if you keep it historically accurate with events proceeding WWI happening. There's also the Eight Powers Intervention, the Russo-Japanese War, and many crises in Morocco triggered by Germany. Italo-Turkish War started in 1911 and the Balkan Wars happened in 1912-1913. IMO USA should be major power. I'm not sure why being initially neutral would make one minor. Bulgaria had -5 million people. USA had 100 million. Bulgaria raised at least 1,200,000 men while USA raised 4 million. Its contribution/strength, when roused, is anything but minor. (though several other countries had more men overall) I'm thinking of joining, but for some reason I feel really sick right now. I was thinking "major power" and "minor power" in terms of necessity for this RP. Major powers being powers that need to be picked for the RP the start and minor powers can be left alone in the beginning. What I meant to say is while the USA's contribution was quite huge, in terms of RP it can be left alone because of its initial neutrality. Bulgaria and the Balkan States need to be taken, since they had great effect to event preceding wwi. |

best75 , will you be reserving a spot? Desophaeus , you seem interested as well. I don't think this type of RP is suited to my taste. Writing a large wall of text is not my thing and having no rules seems a bit chaotic to me. |
