Let's compare it to choosing red or black cards in casino. Even if only red cards appeared before, it is still 50/50 probability, isn't it? It does not matter what was before that moment. And what do you say about Heihachiro? Manstein is correct on the statistics, actually. It's just as the chance of not getting heads twice is 75%

Basically Cleopatra wins by cost and Rumor(some people like it, it's nice to have).

Basically Cleopatra wins by cost and Rumor(some people like it, it's nice to have). But...Li Shimin has Logistics as his second skill, just as she has rumor. That is an extremely liked skill. Plus fire dragon beats Mobility (IMO, at least for artillery) and he has explosive master while she has explosive expert. This is even ignoring that her inspiration won't get her equal stats this time, and that his no doubt large lead in health would be boosted by Marshal if anyone wasted their medals on it. You are correct about cost though.

That's true. EW5 has high freedom, the pathways can be completely different. The main reason I bring up Cleopatra is not being rival against Bismarck, but Li Shimin, I just want people to know that Cleopatra exists as a fine alternative instead of spending 11k for Li Shimin. Ah, if speaking about Cleo vs Li Shimin I fully support Your vision. Though Fire Dragon looks nice (it could be very useful in campaign missions) for the end-game Empire mode missions it seems to be marginal. And imo the only important skill for the Arillery (while fighting against units not walls) is Rumor. But actually there is one more note: that depends on the play-style. I (with my archer focused team) was very often using my artillerists as a meat shield. And Li Shimin here could be better than Bismark or Cleo. As for me I anyway prefer Rumor instead of golden stats. Rumor was very important part of my tactics as I was trying to avoid any damage during my play.

Yeah... Only Alexander can kill forts though, and Artillery have no weaknesses (enemy abilities) Artillery have lots of health (like infantry). Its infuriating when the AI controls your artillery and they just run in to get bashed on... Anyway, outside Level 6 Alexander I understand using Artillery to deal with them. Since everyone else is Archers.

Infantry is better, but I have no room for the infantry in my team. And it is a must to have artillery. So sometimes, when Artillery is no more crucial for the mission objective I was using it to cover my archers. Actually I was using Alex for quite a long time. He served me very well but I replaced him with Barbarossa for the end-game. My team normally was (depended on the mission requirement to the quantity): 1 Cavalry, 1 Infantry, 1-2 Artillery, 3-4 Archers.

Plain meat shields are Joan of Arc and Petain, the purple and gold ones have spikes. Saladin, Blucher and Huo Qubing are great meat shield cav.
