Erm, no. My country isn't European, but we were a British colony. India? Canada? Australia? NZ? Not at all, but good job thinking them up. Ok, last clue, my country gained "full independence" by combining with another British colony that just gained their independence. Then we left the new federation to become an independent nation at last. Some conspiracy theorists thought that it was a plot by the Brits to exert influence over the region or something like that.

Yes. Was it the Polandball comics that helped? Nope. You must realise that back when I was living in Australia, I visited most of SE Asia and learnt a lot about their history. As in I know how to spell Majapahit and Suryavarman without a dictionary.
