Okay, this is very out of topic. But I know some of you guys play this game. So I want to ask.. I'm playing as Spain, and I took France out. But suddenly rebels came out and nearly destroy my Empire. Why is that? And should I take North Africa? The trade routes there is intriguing. I really need it because my Spain is like Greece right now. Any tips please, I bought this game yesterday, so I am a begineer..

every area got his own "culture" so if they unite in one nation that has another culture they could get mad if you dont treath them right (if they feel like you lpve the spanish people more than them)

that's true but like you got 2 big cultures in your civ. if your bowing your main-culture to the other one, the first one won't be happy

Yeah you can convert them or try to get their culture to be accepted or just deal with the unrest

And i think it was the el dorado expansion pack that allowed you to create your own countries
