Well, I completed EW5 some time ago again. Now with this team: Attila - Black Prince - Blucher (from time to time I used Asoka as well). Mocti-Li Caesar Khalid-Bismarck So I have two new names for the endgame teams summary - Edward and Khalid. I was impressed by two things actually. 1. Attila's power. Singlemalt said that he is good but really I didn't think he is so good, especially with support of Edward. 2. Field hospital. Caesar and Mocty together are very impressive - 300 HPs each turn for all members of the team especially taking into account that I had Blucher and a number of generals with Leadership - Li, Mocty, Edward... So now I too have achieved 2nd dan, here's my team: Atilla, Suleiman, Blucher, Edward Nelson, Yi Sun-sin Cleopatra, Khalid/Bismarck So the formation is 4 Cav, 2 Arch, 2 Arty - however, I subbed in Bismarck for Edward in Volgograd. I think that's two new names for the list: Suleiman & Cleo. Two thousand dollars and my congratulations, Sir.  Well-deserved victory! My only consolation is that Heihachiro still has a good chance to qualify for the Hall of fame. It is a shame though, that Cleo bested him in such a humiliating way And I have to admit that I have lost Suleiman's race  |

One thing I like about EW 6 is that it is almost completely independent from daily missions. So the player can choose the pace of his advancement. WC4, on the other hand, has the worst farming system in all ET games, imo. The rewards for daily missions are low and you have to spend 15-30 minutes twice a day just to complete them. And if that is not enough you can't beat some naval missions anyway because of time limits. I remember it was very irritating... Just imagine - to play one naval mission again and again to collect 18 medals! (the highest possible reward for a single mission). |

I had completely different lineup for Volgograd: 3 cav, 3 arch, 1 inf, 1 art:
Saladin, Blucher, Richard: supply, good attack and Blucher's armor,
Nobunaga: debuff and good attack,
Moctezuma: healing and debuff,
Bismarck: artillery,
Robin: longow (not very useful, but sometimes not so useless),
Suleiman: just because there were 8 slots for gens and I had to put someone there. That could also be Catherine or Alex.

Edit: and here's how I did it: And fourth game finished today Mixed/balanced team: Atilla, Huo Qubing Barbarossa, Lincoln Li Hongzhang, Robin Hood Khalid, Bismarck So two new names in Huo & Lincoln, although I wouldn't recommend either. Huo is usable with good equipment but he's basically a weaker version of Saladin, so you may as well just use him instead. Lincoln was my number 8 so I used him a lot less apart from in conquest, and he's weak in both defence and attack so is best left on the bench as a squad player. Mixed team is versatile but lacks the firepower that comes from stacking 2 Commanders. |

Curiously when I did Volgograd this time the enemy troops declined to recapture the stables on the northern island. I wonder if this was a one-off piece of luck or if ET have changed the AI again? |
