All in all, in my opinion, even Yamashita is too expensive toy to have, but if someone has time and desire to hire the upper possible number of generals - then why not! A couple of Infantry generals can give us some tactical possibilities in many inland conquests...
Rundstedt, for example, has some potential as an Air general...

for me I just like having mannerheim and yamashita annihilate forts and cities, especially with mannerheim on an australian commando(forst plus cities & forts buff? op). Surviving wise if I have Guderian as the stronger AI-recognised general, and yamashita/mannerheim away from the powerful enemy units, sure why not as they wont get hurt by anything, not even missiles as guderian will attract that instead. Rundstedt would be a nice option for a defensive air general, pity he's infantry as thats bad news for defensive gens xD

Oh and btw, I don't k how if it's the good topic for it but I would like to do a 1950 Conquest with a 1 star country, in order to get Guderian. Which country would you recommend me to do it with ?

Hmm I remember using portugal. Its one of the easiest to do with none or limited generals. Just send all troops towards africa for income, attack up the middle east and knock all the wto middle east nations out in the process, and invade the balkans to defeat them early. Then you can attack upwards the soft underbelly of the ussr and poland, and when youre done with that head east towards prc. |

surgeminer , wouldn't hurt to keep Bock as Fedor von Bock would strongly advise haha, just save up for guderian and with guderian and konev you can breeze through cold war easily Its ok, my feelings are somewhat broken back in the days, I am at least alright, today I am mainly a meatsheild. |

Alright so I finally managed to get through 1950 Conquest with Japan (Portugal was too hard x)) and I now have 2000 medals. So do you think it's a good idea to sell Bock for around 900 medals and get Guderian ? Or should I sell Leeb instead ?

Leeb is the second best Artillery general in the game (IAPs aside). It is even possible to argue that he is the second best Artillery general in the game IAPs included (because of Rumor). Theoretically speaking to have Konev and Leeb in the team is quite a nice idea... But there is always a "but". First - it is always possible to replace Leeb with an Air general with Rumor. Air strikes and missiles are very effective late in the game with an Air general in the city. I used Arnold but Yamamoto is far better in this role with 4 Art stars, Rumor and maybe one additional artillery skill (or even Crowd tactics). Second - Modern war missions are fairly balanced. You will need Admirals quite more often than in other ET games. If my memory is correct there are 3 Modern war missions when you'd better have a serious Navy's support. Third - Usually you have one unit of Rocket launcher and one unit of field Artillery. And that is a big difference because of retaliation probability. Leeb must have a significant number of HPs to survive these counterattacks. Otherwise he will be dead after a couple of turns. Finally - if I had a choice to use one additional Tank general or one additional Artillery general I would rather prefer the former. So, unfortunately we don't have place for two Artillery generals at times. However, if you don't intend to use an Air general - then Leeb is better than Bock. Besides you're task now is to hire and upgrade best tank generals like Guderian. For this task both Leeb and Bock may be sacrificed without many regrets. It's up to you to decide... |

Against leeb, arnold is a better choice and I have issue and problem using him. Imo the only important air skills are carpet bombing and airforce leader, so arnold does the job very well with crowd tactics(i added it) and rumour, no need for a much more expensive Yamamoto. Leeb hasnt shown much use for me(mayne cuz he is bare with no upgrades), ideally try to farm for that additional 900 medals. For me daily invasions give me 1000 medals in 1 week. If your only able to gain medals slowly through daily invasions, with minimally 300 medals weekly, trying your hand at other achievements will be fine too. To help you better tell us what achievements you have left

Alright thanks for your advises stoicAs for the medals here are the achievements I still have to get : - Conquest 1943 : 2 and 3 stars countries - 100 & 50 medals - Conquest 1950 : 1 star country - 150 medals For the daily medals I'm trying to complete the exercise missions but the daily invasions don't really give much medals :/ |
