Jepp 1980, I checked it too, and even Schoβrner lived a few days longer than Manstein. My general fieldmarshall is the only one, who died for his injuries after an enemy attack during the WW 2/2. Rommel?

Rommel? No, it was not Rommel, but soon we run ot of suiciders. My Fieldmarshall did not suicide - he was killed by the enemy during the war. The only one 'fallen in war' - Maybe that his wife at his side, was also killed at this attack is a hint. Not?

Ok, a quick one, with all the specialists here. I am the only German Feldmarshall who died for combat action. I stated in the german Headquarter my protest against war-criminal commands and because of our open dispute in strategy (Barbarossa), I was long off duty, untill Hitler finally comitted suicide. Bock?

Bock? YES John Marston ! Like Rodolfo Graziani, noted: He was killed by an Air-strike. With his wife and a friend in a car, driving to gain again a command, after the GRΕFAZ suicide. He was 1943,44 and 45 on payment - but without use. As a professional militar (not a political friend), he critisized the austrian amateur, making all the strategic and tactical errors. So he stayed b locked for so long. The historic sidekick: That he is the only one, that was killed in combat (as civilian !) - makes him so outstanding.

I thought first you may mean Franco, but the devastating economy he caused and left behind after his death 1975, wont fit for nothing. It is Franco and Spain saw its economic boom after ww2 as part anti-communist front. (Franco was one of the main anti-communist leader of Europe). Charles Huntziger is right once again

No not Goβring, even him: suicide in prison (the night before his execution) Goering was a war criminal in every way.

From Khalkin-Gol to the entire Red Army Definitely Not. Khalkin-Gol ended on the eve of soviet involvement in ww2 and Zhukov commanded entire red army?
