What if you give yamamoto rumor and accuracy. That way he can be a great artillery navy hybrid as he can reach 4 stars in artillery.?

Thank god the ai doesn’t use air craft carriers on the land units at sea or we would be boned in every mission. true but if theres nothing to bomb except your land unit carriers they will still target you haha |

I dont think its wise to waste it on him, better to just let him stay as a navy air hybrid, and just invest more in your main artillery general |

Don’t buy this guy if you want a pure-air general. Arnold has level 4 rumor and the other skills that Yamamoto has, for around 1500 medals less. Give him Cover and he will be an absolute beast on aircraft carriers. I think that the counterattack of the carrier can trigger Rumor.
I don’t think that more than 1 good air general is necessary.
However, if you are looking for a air/navy hybrid, then Yama is your best choice.

What is better: Giving Yamamoto Rumor instead of Sailor and not give him any medals, while Nimitz has Rumor and has 2 medals
Or
Give Yamamoto Sailor and the Conqueror Medal while Nimitz has Rumor and 1 Medal?

Get rumor. |

Bought Yamamoto to serve as my main air gen and as a secondary navy gen when needed. Tested him in Operation Sea Lion and he performed amazingly.
Unfortunately, since I’m not ready to jump into Pacific War yet, I haven’t used him a lot, since in Conquest I try to use as few generals as possible. But he’s surely worth it.
His only downsides are that he starts with all of his skills LVL 1, and that he doesn’t have any suitable medals for him except for the Conqueror Medal, but Sailor isn’t that useful. He also has the second highest purchase price in the game if you consider the discounts that the Famous Generals can receive.
In compensation, however, he is powerful at both navy and air. You basically buy 1 navy general and 1 air general that act as one. Those that like hybrids will love him.

I’m starting to get fascinated by hybrids due to their versatility. Yamamoto, despite not being the best navy general, is still powerful at that role with his 5 navy stars and Major General rank, which is close from doubling the HP of the units and ships that he commands. And he is amazing at air. He is also decent as a temporary artillery general due to his 3 Artillery stars, and he gets even better if you give him Rumor.
Would you guys mind if you took your time and gave me a list of the best hybrids in the game? I’m starting to get convinced that a versatile role (Hybrids) is better than a dedicated one (Pure-role generals). Of course, Guderian is a notable exception to that. He simply can’t be replaced.

This guy can do everything. Not as good as pure specialization generals, of course, but still. I was very sorry to trade him for Rommel, but I needed 800 to give the sixth tank star to Graziani and the millitary rank of Rommel was higher. And economic factors are of paramount importance in WC4. I think though, that Graziani is a very underrated general... I remember I gave Rumor and Armored Assault to him... Panzer leader instead of AS is also an option. This skill is so danm good in WC4. |
