Another great thing about Timoshenko: He starts as a Colonel, which is a high rank. Promote him once and he is already a Major General, which is the rank of most gold-tiers.

IMO, cheaper rokkosovsky. Nah, Vatutin feels more like a cheaper Rokossovsky. Rokossovsky is Vatutin but faster, Blitzkrieg and Major General rank.

Gone I think timoshenko might actually he a better buy than arnold. To get him to lvl 4 rumor, his final price will be around 2300 medals. But for his price, he is still one of the strongest nonupgraded tank generals. He is arnold + plain fighting lvl 3, 2 extra stars of movement, and additional stars to tanks and artillery stats. Imo, an air general, although great, is not really that needed

I might actually get both of them. Manstein+ Guderian+ Rokossovsky+ Rommel+ Konev+ Timoshenko dominate on land while Nimitz and Arnold rule the seas. Meanwhile, Mannerheim destroys Domination Infantry battles and rules the battlefield on a Commando when it’s available.

Timo can serve as a great admiral as well, when needed. 6 movement stars results in massive mobility.

With my previous roster I earned thousands of medals quite easily, I spent them on buying resources for faster upgrading. But now I learned, it’s good to use medals to buy resources ONLY if it is for expensive wonders.

Machu Picchu takes a century to build, though. I still agree with your statement, however.

Hey, I’ve bought Timoshenko and holy cow, he’s amazing! You know, I was actually looking for someone to use as a support tank in my land force, and yet I’ve never noticed that Timoshenko was the guy I was looking for.

I’m not afraid of the Modern War anymore thanks to Semyon. What are the terrorists when Timoshenko just swoops in and applies Rumor to them?

Timo is good in the beginning because of plain fighting and fast movement, which make him quite useful on any unit. With rumor he's not so bad in late game too, as he can catch up your other forces, which have already moved forward (when you can't deploy all your gens from the very beginning), his main task is not to make damage, but to put rumor on enemies. Sure, if you have enough medals for more expensive gens, he may be not so useful, but his price/performance ratio is very good.

Crowd tactics is also quite good as it can be buffed with the hero medal. Overall he is a great general to have late game.

He has great mobility but only 4 stars in tanks. I recommend Vatutin or Leclerc.

He has great mobility but only 4 stars in tanks. I recommend Vatutin or Leclerc. mm well pointed out, Timoshenko may indeed lack offensive capabilities. However, he is widely renowned to be a stellar supporting general, which means that his strong support for your main offensive generals makes up for his weaknesses. With rumor, crowd fighting and full movement stats, he is able to constantly follow your main generals like Guderian or Konev to boost their damage, and lend a hand in applying rumor when required. Other supporting generals may include Arnold on artillery where you can place crowd fighting to complement his already strong rumor. Between the two, I'd recommend Arnold, since he is also one of the strongest air generals in-game, but you need to sacrifice movement

He is too weak to do good damage in tanks. Unlike Messe he lacks Armored Assault, which in Giovanni's case compensates his 4 tank stars. He is only good for demoralizing by adding Rumor. But why him when you can get Arnold who also provides you with powerful missiles, and that is also fast enough to not make Semyon's two more movement stars a difference? Not to mention that he is a bit cheaper, but “a bit” in WC4 means much more than it seems.
