Not saying that he is crap, however, he is much better than I expected. Might actually spend some more generals on him! Two navy skills are needed for a naval general: fleet leader and rumor. Kuznetsov has both. In addition, he has good stars, 4 stars in navy and air, and a couple stars to movement. His main strength is that he starts out at level 3 fleet leader and has rumor as one of his three skills. When placed on a double stacked cruiser or a sub, Kuznetsov can last for a very long time while having a devastating affect on the battlefield. He has a very good price of 1200 medals, which is the best deal you get with the exception of Nimitz. If you upgrade him, get his rumor up to lvl 3 and he should hold up even in end game

Will be honest tho, fighting against him in the 1950s are so frickin annoying because he has so much health. That's why I'm gearing towards the increased sub damage against carriers and cruisers.

Now imagine the enemy having to fight a Kuznetsov with lvl 5 rumor. He has a very good skill set. There are two comparable navy generals to him in the silver tier, Nagumo and Mountbatten. Mountbatten has an extra navy star on Kuznetsov and can heal, but he loses his air ability and is a bit more expensive than him. Imo, he is not worth it even though it is definitely awesome to see Mountbatten being good in an Easytech game. Ship depot is barely noticeable. As for Nagumo, he too would cost around 700-800 more medals tgan Kuznetsov. It is true that Nagumo has 2 navy stars on Kuznetsov, which both would cost more than that 800 medal difference, the power would come from the skills. If the two fought, my money would be on Kuznetsov cuz sailor + rumor would do more than overcome the advantage nagumo has on him. As for the tier 3 generals, Donitz costs more than 2x that of Kuznetsov’s price and Yamamoto almost 3. Yamamoto would have at best a skill set of explosives, rumor, and fleet leader, whereas donitz could have the same skills except with ship depot and wolfpack as well (actually, not that big of a difference between the two). This means that at their best, they will only have a one skill advantage to kuznetsov, even though arguably donitz could get some extra hp from ship depot and yamamoto is much better on a carrier). Explosives is a rather good skill on navy, but it isn’t that good to justify buying them. Now nimitz is a much better general than Kuznetsov however, ace forces will lead to amazing survivability, his camoflauge skill will save a bit of hp here and there, and finally he can have both explosives and rumor (making him really good on artillery as well). He will also have more health and better stars than Kuznetsov. But kuznetsov will hold his own even to him in a 1 v 1 fight due to his highly specialized skills. Nimitz would win but he would lose 2/3rds of his health (the level 3 ace forces would do the most to ensure Nimitz’s survivabilty). So in a nutshell, the only better deal than Kuznetsov for navy is Nimitz, who offers many more features for 600 more medals. The rest don’t even consider.

I guess the “Dream Team For Starters” is Messe, Leeb and Kunetzsov. Best starting tank general, 2nd best non-IAP artillery general (Behind Konev) and an amazing navy general with a price of just 1200 medals.

You don't need navy at the start, but if the Navy Daily Battles are getting to you, he's a cheap and effective option.

Even Mountbatten in Axis 4 who is basically an one-hit killer could not kill Kuznetsov!

But make sure you are still able to grind for Guderian, many people grind for Guderian after Messe + Leeb or just Messe.

I hired kutznetsov yesterday. Missing out on the daily missions, etc without a Navy commander wasn't fun. Will work towards Nimitz most likely but since I got him I've been able to clear more challenges and invasions. Have four now and can't wait to fill my roster.
