I have the following Generals:
Manstein Zhukov Eisenhower Guderian Patton Govorov
Would it be better to just make 3 powerful Arty Generals rather than 2 Arty and 1 Tank.
I could go:
Tanks:
Guderian Manstein Patton
Arty:
3 EC's
What would be the optimal configuration?

Manstein is not so good. Lack of tide of iron makes him become useless quite fast. The best solution here is Guderian, Patton, Govorov + 1 tank and 2 art ECs. When your tank EC will have 3+ explosives and other skills also 3+, you can replace Patton with Vatutin, Vatutin's out is better and tide of iron keeps his output on normal level all the time.

Patton does do well to crack city, but his output drops very bad.
Also I don't like Govorov too much. He's so slow, it takes him too long too catch up. Which means his high damage is useless when he is way behind.

I don't remember Rommel's skills, but as I remember he's better than Patton only is deserts, which are very hard to find.

Do you know if Konev is any good? Konev is a hybrid, one of the better ones. His best features are his Major Gen rank, his stars & high retaliation skill lvls. He's good, but you'd use specialised gens more often. |

Depends on where you are. For aliens art is better, for CWE - tank.
