I have gotten a Murat as the first general. Is that good? Murat is, as far as I know, the best cavalry general (not including iap). He has the highest cavalry ability, has the rank of Major And the title of Count (2 stars). Which is one of the highest you can find in the store, he can also go all the way up to king (the second highest title). He also has good skills and decently upgraded aswell. I am saving up for him myself too.

The onlu one I found that improves cavalry ability is the knight long gun (battle ability +10 and cavalry ability +20), which you can buy in the shop for 180 medals, but there is probably another item which you can get from getting a certain amount of stars in a campaign later in the game.

Oh ok, thx for the info. This helps, skill ability is more important than battle ability as I thought before.

Oh ok, thx for the info. This helps, skill ability is more important than battle ability as I thought before. I do not agree with that. Battle ability increases the attack for every type of unit the general is commanding, the skill ability goes on top of the battle ability if the general is commanding a unit type he is familiar with. For example: if you put a cavalry general on a cavalry unit, the attack will be increased by the percentage of the base attack and cavalry attack of the general combined. So I would choose a general with a base attack of +10% and a skill attack of +1% over a general with a base attack of +1% and a skill attack of +10%, because the attack of the first general will be higher when put on any random unit then the second general, while they both will have the same increase on their specialized unit. Taking into account that in latest ET games specific skills (and it is normally one sphere focused) influences the final damage a lot, You will probably not use such a hybrid general with high battle ability instead of a one-sphere oriented general with more or less acceptable sum of battle+specific ability. I like the idea with battle ability which shows that the general was good in commanding of anything but playwise and damagewise in practice I am not sure it is reasonable to overestimate such so-called hibrids. It is all about skills anyway. Look at Suvorov. Great battle ability but he will anyway can't match cavalry oriented general. Even mediocre one.

Yes but battle ability is upgradable, u like skill ability. Of course battle ability is still important. What I meant is picking a gen with high skill ability and mediocre battle ability is alright, cause it covers for it.

In my view what matters is the combined bonus the battle ability and skill ability gives you. When I look at a general I don't look at the battle or skill ability individually but at their combined bonus. Your will be putting the general on the unit type he is meant for so both battle and skill ability will apply.
