This is a very underrated general in my opinion, as most new players rush to get Nelson, Treville or Jones. However, this guy is a relatively nice general to use while you try to afford someone as good as Nelson. In fact, he is arguably a better choice then treville as he starts with Lvl 3 line of battle, so his damage is pretty solid. His max rank of duke is also forgiveable, as you will use this guy till you can replace him with Nelson. Overall, a starting naval general, and a cheap one too. You might think his health is a limiting factor, but its cheaper to upgrade his health to Treville level as opposed to buying Treville. A pretty solid choice if you ask me, and a very cheap one at that. Great at raiding unfortunate land units trapped in water.

I already have it and it has served me well I myself used Treville. He is slightly better, but isn’t worth the extra 500 medals on Morillo. Both are good generals though.

Trash. Who needs Morillo if we have even cheaper (take into account rank) Hood with more skills. To compare Morillo and Treville is quite strange. Another league.

Trash. Who needs Morillo if we have even cheaper (take into account rank) Hood with more skills. To compare Morillo and Treville is quite strange. Another league. 1. You have to actually get hood, which is quite a pain without a naval general. 2. Tactics master is a very important skill for navy. I’ll take it over the critcal strike and damage reduction skill hood has any day. If you want the critical strike skill very badly, I suggest you get Treville. 3. The most important thing for navy is not to attack other ships, but to attack the infanty, artillery, and cavarly units that decide to go for a swim. And to attack cities. None of these fight back, so tactics master can be extremely helpful to doing high damage. Hood’s damage over Morillo is not that high in order to compensate for the double attacks Morillo have. 4. There are only 4 naval generals with tactics master: Nelson, Treville, Morillo, Verhuel, so it makes a lot of sense to compare Morillo to Treville. Now Verhuel is a bad option as even though he has tactics master, but no offense capability, so even if he is good at raiding units at sea, his damage isn’t spectacular. However, Morillo has Line of Battle at Lvl 3, so his damage right of the bat is pretty good. 5. You don’t have to upgrade any feature of Morillo, with the exception of his health. But that is also quite cheap to do, as it costs only 95 medals to raise from 30 to 35%, so I can’t imagine the two levels before it are too expensive. 6. A navy general without tactics master isn’t any better than Falsen if you think about it. But the very very little damage hood does more than Falsen isn’t enough to justify spending 800 medals on hood. However, for those extra 800 medals, Morillo brings tactics master to the table. Hood only brings the crit skill. However, if you get treville, you get a defense skill and as well as the crit skill for only 500 medals more than hood. 7. No matter how much of a discount hood gets, there is no justification of buying him. He could free for all I care, but I still wouldn’t use him. Tegetthoff costs 870 medals, but can do anything hood can. 8. I’d even take Verhuel over Hood any day, you just have to use him right.

Could You please specify what is the mission/conquest where You need only to sink land units in the Sea? And what are You going to do when enemy ship will appear? Run away?
Both Hood and Morillo have Line of Battle. Morillo stats are lower. Tactic Master is great but it is a trigger skill what You can't rely on in a critically important moment. Good to have it, but let's say it is more like unexpected bonus. And sometimes You even can't even benefit from it, as You could have already moved and killed the unit during first attack.

I agree with what your saying. Raiding enemy units is more useful in conquest than in missions. But in a bunch of missions, you are given a random frigate and you can attack land units. Morillo is someone who definitely needs a lot of healing, so you won’t run away from them. On the contrary, you could attack a navy unit twice, and get it down to half health, when the output really degrades. He is actually quite strong in naval combat, but he will definitely need a nice healing item, which shouldn’t be a problem. Secondly, it is a unexpected bonus. But unlike critical hits, i see it triggering all the time with Nelson and Davout. It happens a lot more frequently then you think, as at minimum there is a 12% chance which is very high. The damage reduction skill and crit strike skills are also unexpected bonuses. Third, considering most units have an hp of above 200 (I think militia has like 280), and I have yet to see Nelson’s output rise above 200, thats very unlikely that you will kill a unit in one hit. But if Napoleon is in the water for some reason, a general such as Morillo can give him quite the beating. I respect your opinion though. Maybe you use Hood more of in a navy v navy situation, in which case Hood might be more useful. But on the other hand, Morillo is more useful in conquests, and in some campaigns as well. He is really not a bad general for 820 medals.

Conquest: Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Sardinia, Naples, Italy, Prussia, Morocco, Egypt. Its not as situational as you think, as the ai launches naval invasions all the time in conquest. For example, in 1812, Naples navally invades england. There are very few countries such as Poland, Austria, Saxony, Rhine... where you won’t have to use a navy. However, there are much more countries where you do. Even Prussia has a frigate in every single conquest, which if you put Morillo on, can greatly help the swedes in defeating the Dannes. Also, in conquests, if you have a couple turns before declaring war, if you play as sweden, you can put a unit, or even Dobeln on the tire right next to Copenhagen, and use your naval general to quickly take the capital once declaring war. But navy is much more useful in conquest than it is in campaign. But if you get Morillo, I seriously doubt that you have more than 6 generals at the time. You could also use him on artillery in campaigns or challenges, and he will be quite strong with an aura buff.

So You do have Nelson, not Morillo. OK, now I understand. Man do not even think that looking at Nelson's output You'll have something similar with Morillo. Stats are incomparable. The reason why Falsen is trash is that his stats are too low. So as Morillo's. I know that because I upgraded Falsen to count and his stats are 32+24 now. And he sucks really to any enemy. Not even to a admiral. To simple enemy ships. Morillo's stats are 33+20. And he is Viscount. Means he is simply same sucker as Falsen. So, if You want weak gen like Falsen for medals go ahead. But Tactic Master will faster kill him from retaliation instead of his enemy.

Maybe I don't understand something but I have no clue at all why we discuss such generals as Morillo. He might be not bad (when fully upgraded) or, on the contrary, he might be worthless, but that is not a problem as I see it. It was proven that it is possible to complete the game without an Admiral at all, and if we really need one it should be one of the best at least, or even the best one (who is, of course, Nelson). Why to bother to hire a mediocre Admiral when we need our scarce resources elsewhere? To replace him later with another Admiral, who in his own turn is not indispensable for completing the game?
