First mission for the liberation of South America campaign. During this mission the spainish will get reinforcements from the sea. Bolivar says we can stop the reinforcements if we occupy the port. Has anybody tried this? Does it actually work?
Also has anybody managed to keep Bolivar alive? He seems to always die despite my effort and I have to suffer a double morale drop.

Can’t 3 Star this mission because of the reinforcements I am having trouble as well. Those elite light infantry reinforcements just keep coming. I tried keeping bolivar alive but it slows the mission down and I can't make effort to capture the cities. I think I will just have to let bolivar die and deal with the double morale lost.

Still grinding to max out the entire tech tree even if it takes me weeks. This is like EW6’s Rise of America but even worse..

Captured the port but reinforcements still poured in... Bolivar lied. I seriously hope this is a bug. This was done on the newest bug fix and I doubt anyone, even with max tech, could 3 star this easily.

Perhaps this will be the most difficult mission in the game.

After several tries I managed to 3 star this mission. It required a bit of luck as on the same turn Bolivar dies the enemy must not capture the city he was in. This allows you to move in and take the city for yourselves and spawn infantry to hold the city. My generals basically rushed the 2 southern cities than the city with port. Capturing Valecia last

Yea I just ignored the prompt about the port and the reinforcements and just went for the cities, got lucky with militias holding out the cities and managed 3 stars on the last turn. That seems to be the theme of this campaign is to go straight for the targets instead of clearing a clean path.

Simply taking out all the units wastes too much time for 3 stars and I have to leave infantry to hold the cities while my generals capture the key city of the enemy.

It’s almost like it’s promoting the AI’s play style in conquest, over reach with elite gens and hope militias can hold out along the way.

I just did this Mission and I think the reinforcements actually stopped. Presumeably when I killed the general, so I guess they fixed it!

Actually, don’t go after the general and the city because it’s gonna be tough defending that against the reinforcements
