I’m currently trying to rank up one of my gens but he requires a gold medal to rank up. Are there any ways to acquire a gold medal without the shop or completing a new conquest?

The game gives you 22 gold medals for completing all game tasks until the update (up until Ottoman campaign, Prussian war challenge, the first two conquests and all 50% challenges). I have still a lot of 3 stars to be done, yet I still have 8 gold medals, despite using many to get an Emperor, 3 Kings and 1 Prince. I believe that the game gives you around 40 gold medals for free, more than enough to get max title for any team (besides maybe artillery, since Mahmud and Alex are Emperors). IMO all offers on the bottom row in the shop are good only for hackers. |

Yeah, but by the looks of it OP is at the beggining and it is one of the last things I'd do with medals... it is not an effective price (generals and skills are much nore valuable and also king or even prince are really easy to get and no that much worse than Emperor)
Btw, I did Netherlands 1798 at least 25 times I think.

You pay 1 gold medal and about 60k gold for Prince (+6 ability, +4% defense) 3 gold medals and 75k gold for King (+8 ability, +4% defense) And 6 gold medals and 30k gold for Emperor ( +10 ability)... The point is that having the possibility to upgrade to Emperor is great, but getting the ranks below it is far more effective in terms of gold medals cost. |

Probably like 50000, as I sold many of my generals in the past for 80%. I got that number from adding how much each of my individual generals would be worth. |

Someone like Lannes costs 842 but his fully price tag will be around 3000. Stuff like that. And selling them allows me to get: Murat + Dabrowski + Davout for just the price of one upgraded davout. This is perfect for a hardcore farmer. I unfortunately got lazy. |

I sold Kutuzov for Davout and wasn’t dissappointed. You can also get Murat too. They are both equally good. Davout is really powerful when backed up by aura buff generals. But yeah, out of those to you can get who you want. Also, I just recently breezed through the British campaign with karl, masséna, barclay, and wellesley (unnecessary), so you could also consider getting that combination first, and you can get really far in the game. Heck even Karl + Masséna + Gates + Clinton + Barclay is also really powerful. |
