Another interesting and difficult battle. Whoever will receive 3 stars for this mission will be my hero The reason is very simple... We are not allowed to use cavalry generals in this mission, but almost all units we have are... cavalry We have 3 units of infantry, 4 units of artillery and cavalry. We have to eliminate 6 generals, capture and hold 3 key targets and all that without cavalry generals.

I like the way ET prepared this challenge (Crimean War) They stimulate players to use gens with high battle ability, so inf gen on cav for example would be competitive. Interesting idea. Specialized gen is not obligatory the best for all the circumstances. So gens like Suvorov have the right to be in the lineup. Nice

In the next mission I use him on an Armored car, though it is possible to build an Infantry unit. The time is precious. Yeah, but still an Infantry general on horseback

Crimian war is really a true challenge. No easy missions so far...

Ironic how the Allies has more manpower than Russia in the real battle of Balaclava...

This map almost reminds me of a map of Northern Italy, the Alps and the northwest corner of the Balkans.

This map almost reminds me of a map of Northern Italy, the Alps and the northwest corner of the Balkans. Even the forests and river placements are present. This is indeed north Italy and the balkans

Any tips for 1 star stoic? Still stuck at it... I got max tech, fully upgraded Karl, Massena, Murat, (yeah.. Kings and Marshalls.. seriously don't upgrade to Marshall until the end.. not worth it) well-upgraded Kutuzov, Davout, Lan and of course untouched Gates and Jourdan... I'm starting to think it is not doable without having Barclay + Dabrowski replacing the free generals.

I lost about 80% of my generals when I completed it. And all my generals were strong enough. Our strategy is pretty straightforward in this mission... But there's a difference between knowing it and doing it. Good news though that both Barclay and Dabrowski are not very expensive. Sooner or later you have to replace Gates and Jourdan... Probably this time has come

Dabrowski is not that cheap really.. 1765 ((. My question was if it is better to attack in north, feinting "Italy" and crossing "the Alps" (then making the same thing at the 3 fortresses) or make the obvious direct attack. At the moment I'm able to take either 2 out 3 objectives.

My question was if it is better to attack in north, feinting "Italy" and crossing "the Alps" (then making the same thing at the 3 fortresses) or make the obvious direct attack. At the moment I'm able to take either 2 out 3 objectives. But Dabrowski's upgrades are not expensive. Anyway... I think our allies are not of great help in this mission. So all my attempts to help them failed miserably. Therefore I didn't disperse my forces and moved my generals together as long as I could from one target to the next via "Italy" and "Alps". Only then I sent two tanks and one Art general to take a target behind Sophia, while the rest tried to take (it is easy) and hold (it is more difficult ) the last target. The key is to hold targets even if our generals inside will be killed. So we should have at least one general with full health (or close to that) to put him into the central target (in my case it was John). In my experience Murat can hold the other target on his own without much troubles (especially if Sophia is destroyed beforehand). Don't neglect the third key target in "Italy" completely because there will be a counterattack through "Adriatic see" (I prefer this to happen instead of clearing all units on my way). One cavalry unit should be enough to stop this counterattack. But as I said, it will be very difficult without 3 Inf. Masters and "Murat-Dabrowski" pair. We are allowed to use up to 12 generals in this mission. Well, we can complete it with 8. But with 6 (I don't count Gates and Jourdan as full-time generals ) it is veeeery difficult to complete it, imo... Just compare Karl and Murat with Gates/Jourdan and Barclay/Dabrowski nearby -------------------

Thank yoy for takin your time to explain this. I hope it will be useful for anyone, since this is truly difficult.. not tactical-wise but strategical.

Did somebody finish this mission with 3*? I finished it easily with 2* with cavalry commanders, but without them it seems impossible...
