Soon enough I'll have enough funds for buying my first elite general. I've heard many good things about Pompey and Mithridates. Who else deserves to be our first elite general?

Arminius I think because he's the best Cav. I'm going for him vercingetorix or pompey.

I think Pompey is the best choice for the first elite. Enemy archers are difficult to counter. Infantry is the most balanced. Best against cities as well.

Just pick either from infantry or cavalry, or it depends on what you made your free commander to be. Archers are too squishy to last in campaigns or conquests, and need to be moved a round a lot. Infantry is just great, they're an all rounder. Cavalry, on the other hand, just brute force cities, just give them rams. Depends what you lack. But since you have Pacorus, i think you should go for infantry. Pompey is great for mobility, mr.badass briton is good for power and tankiness.

Theoretically, Ceasar or my case, perhaps, Mithridates have opportunity to shoot 3 times (first time-Commander skill-Forced march) without any retaliation. Isn't that great?

stoic, Seger, as You know ET games are not only about raw damage, but fast mission completion as well. I have Arminius, don't buy him
