dsongop Fully agree with underrated list. I said Crassus is absolute boss even before game was released for android However, don't think You are right about Vercingetorix and Octavian. I didn't try all the Ceaser time conquests, but I can see that I still don't need to use all my gens for attack. Vercingetorix can easily be used as a great defender here and there. He is still one of the strongest infantry gens. The only real reason is that Your prefer speed run. But who knows maybe we'll make use of him in future conquests. I think if the map is bigger there could be a necessity to hold somewhere while other gens attack. Octavian. There are simply no alternatives. I fully support Your opinion about Drusus, but Octavian is still better than Cleopatra. So together with Mithridat he is a must for the lineup imo. BTW, I think that Huo is overrated A lot of people say Huo is great, just because they purchased Arminius - were not happy with him (probably because mainly used him on the light cav as a spearhead of the assault as I did in the very beginning ) and decided that Huo would be better.

Makes sense. Thanks a lot. Depends on the unit. Infantry you want as beefy as possible, well at least that’s how I like mine as they get not one but too good damage reducing perks. However, you could also make a Vasilevksy type general where you add infantry commander + 3 damage boosting skills and get a good general. Cavalry: You want these to have both guerilla and too attack as heavily as possible. If a cavarly hits really hard, it can oneshot some units and keep attacking. I would personally go with Archers: you definitely want these hitting like a nuke and nothing else. Every skill on them must boost output in one way or another. K, thanks.

I choose Drusus how my 2nd archer commander because i like he 35% critical rate (he crit very often, 1/3) and moral high give him around 20 points of attack over octavian. And Crassus will be my 2nd inf gen because he have 25% crit (with crossbow) can destroy citys defenses very fast and have march, he have around the same damage of Pompey in the same circunstancias (or is circumstances?)

I'm among who said Huo is great I also have Arminius and Huo But, I never use Cav gens besides Hannibal as Spearhead of the assault (why don't give best guy a chance to do what he's the best). I say Huo is great just because he makes critical attack too frequently (I think he crits more than Manstein with panzer leader medals in WC4). I never think Arminius is not good because I still keep him in my team and near-fully upgrade him.

yuanzhong, I remember You worship Huo But imo "everything is relative". He makes crits frequently but only a tiny bit if compared to Arminius who is overall stronger (better skills, great talent). So, yes, Huo is good choice agree. But far from being "mighty".

I considered putting Huo in, but I think he is properly rated. yuanzhong loves him, and andrei despises him . In this forum he is far less popular than Arminius and Antony. I think that especially for a non-IAP player, Huo would be a very good 3rd cavalry general. I would even argue that Huo might be prefered over Antony if one doesn't really value speedruns (cavalry commander still gives Antony the edge imo). With the existence of Hannibal though, I wouldn't go for Huo early on.

The problem of Huo is that You "lose" talent, item slot, and skill (in addition to his useless Guerilla-Counterattack pair) to obtain this crit rate which is not a guarantee. That's too much.
And at the same time You could have high crit rate with Arminius if You wish. The question is why do You want it? So it is just his talent for 10% crit what makes him interesting? Imo it is weak talent.

So, yes, Huo is good choice agree. But far from being "mighty". Lol, I don't worship him, just admire him. I don't deny that reason may make me overrate Huo (just a bit ). But at last his strong point is critical attack (not tiny bit more than Arminius, at first time I also suprise when using Huo - Huo is 4th Cavalry in my team). Not mighty but in middle of good and mighty

yuanzhong , it is math. It is only 10% difference. As I mentioned in my previous post the problem is that You have to use Huo in this way - around crit attack. While Arminius for instance is even stronger versatile general. They both have no Commander skill, so they are definetely both not in the top league and to be considered as a support gens - to occupy cities, to kill weaker units, to scout etc. And high crit rate for a support general? I doubt it is of great importance.

A bit of a disagreement, but you are on the ball for most of them. 1. Tiberius isn’t underrated. He simply isn’t good enough. He is probably 5th or even 6th best cavalry general in the game. He is good but not even close to good enough. If you buy him, you will get a walmart version of anthony. Labelling him as underrated might result in some unexperienced player purchasing him. 2. Octavian is overrated and counterattack is a garbage skill. Archers only take damage when they are attacked. Archers can counterattack anything that doesn’t have guerilla or ambush. This means this happens a lot. Octavian’s counterattack will probably have an enormous effect. He can defend cities well, he can take on tough cavarly generals and win. Secondly, the fact that you think Octavian is overrated. Whether you dislike him or not, no one can deny that he is the second best archer general in the game. Unless you plan on making your free general an archer and plan on getting cleopatra, you will most likely buy him. I have yet to see any one really both use him and praise him on this forum. 3. Cassius: if you are going to buy cassius, you might as well spend the extra 300 medals and get vercingetorix. The quality difference between the two is enormous I used him throughout the game and he worked just fine for me. I would add to your point on counterattack by noting that archers are one hex attackers; In order to attack they must become vulnerable to whomever they wish to attack. This means that you will certainly need to have your archers out there, so its not as if the skill will never get used (unless you only use your archer to clean up, but then your not utilizing them to their fullest potential.).

All his skills synergies well, and although breakthrough isn't really wanted, it can be used in certain situations. His talent makes it so his item choices are more versatile.

opinionmaker, archers need to positioned well in order to be maximized well. Hard to calculate at times if they'll survive or not. I've had my Archer commander with 4 legions stacked on him and he just disappeared after a turn. They definitely need infantry and cavalry support to be used well

It was one turn indeed, for his adversaries But, it depends on luck, to be honest...
