Just give your commander all the skills of Pompey but swap Plain fighting for siege, and you're set I’m currently imitating Spartacus but maybe change intercept to seige 😂 No intercept is an amazing skill, especially considering how cheap it is. Cities don’t really fight back. I would suggest you simply get crassus rather than altering your infantry general to a fortress cracker. Otherwise, your general will be a fast spartacus, which is pretty great. I would probably say that maybe roar is the issue. If you replace it with a terrain bonus like pain fighting and give him a crossbow, he’ll be slightly stronger. But then again, there are also many benefits of having a terrain less general

Mihredates VI, the man with the coolest hat in the game. If you think Pompey is unanimously loved, remember that there are some people saying that he was the 2nd best infantry general in the game. However, I have yet to any place Mih VI not at #1 on their list. In fact, he is pretty much a Caesar clone. He has essentially the same skills. Both possess very strong talents as well. Simply put, Mihredates VI is a good first buy for anyone looking for a strong first general. I’d go as far as to say any issues you might have in using him are with archers themselves, not with him. Probably the ideal general to use the oration tactic on every other turn.

Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus, we can all agree that we love Tigranes II. Having a talent that reduces damage received for an archer unit is extremely valuable, and makes him one of the best and most unique of the archers. Imagine being an archer with pretty low health and armor, taking 8% less damage from retaliation as an archer. Let me repeat that: 8% LESS DAMAGE FROM RETALIATION AS AN ARCHER. Thank you easytech for giving us such a wonderful general.

Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus, on a serious note, i think we can all agree, as yuanzhong has pointed out, Antony, our favorite cutie . There no real reason to dislike him except maybe for breakthrough. But his Talent + march is such a great combination that it makes him forgo movement speed items and can opt for your best offensive items to match the damage range close to that of Hannibal. He can also reach places that will take 2 or 3 turns for other units to reach, unless they have the gallic map?(Item that makes you ignore terrain). You can give Antony a movement item if you want him to go from Rome to Dacia in only 3 turns.

Also I think that if 1 person dislikes a general but everyone else does, we probably should also include on this list but explain why a certain person does not like them.

The 5th slot on this list goes to our Comrade Labienus. Labienus is a very strong infantry general found in the silver tier. All 3 of his skills are very good. He has some of the biggest output against archers in the entire game. The only thing lacking about him is his talent, which is alright (there are worse ones lets be honest) and his movement. With a crit item, Labienus will be the equivalent of a govorov in gcr: slow but very, very powerful

His attack is good enough even without critical damage, so healthy 15 attacking points are better in this case than a hypothetical 15% probability.

Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus, Cleopatra. She's hot, she's the best naval general, and she's a great archer. Although i still think that she's overrated, that doesn't mean i dislike her. Everyone here loves her, for various reasons . She's also the only female general in game right now. Just need to upgrade her rank and she'll be a great archer navy hybrid.

And to think Antony let his wife (Cleo) and his boss (Ceasar) to have a child. I salute this guy not in a bad way 😁 Maybe for the betterment of Rome?

I think that takes care of most of the unanimously loved generals. I’ll put other well liked ones in the honorable mentions tab

Actually would Bato and Commius make the list. They both seem to be held to high regard.

Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus, maybe we should add vercingetorix in the honorable mention. He's a badass, just a bit slow when it comes to mobility.
