Don't think many people will even think about replacing Guderian. The way I would replace gudarian is if all me slots have excellent generals and i get Manstien instead for free along with 1,000 medals.

What a turn of events... but surely looking at how useful ECs are in wc3, and that Bai/Govorov and gang are leading the pack, he's not going to be too popular

Heās has stand out movement on artillery being the only general that has 5 stars movement on artillery, or at least do that and still be good. He is Bai with an extra movement star, lvl 4 explosives, an extra plain level, and an extra artillery star so he is actually significantly better than bai. Bai does have artillery barrage whereas manstein lacks tide of iron, making him a meh tanker. Mansteinās hits harder than Govorov against cities as well. Mansteinās output is slightly worse than govorov, of course the main flaw being the lack of tide of iron/artillery barrage. Manstein is also really good on a super tank, especially when there are no rockets/nukes around nearby, such as when invading the ussr. He is actually 20$ here though, not 12$ so he like Eisenhower and Zhukov are all very expensive.

No one can reject a fast powerful artillery. Strictly speaking Manstein on tank is stronger than him on artillery (ofc look at his stats), but Patton can do a pretty ok job at what Manstein on tank mainly does, whereas Bai is not even close to Manstein.

I see, other than Sevastopol I dont see where Manstein has distinguished himself in artillery use IRL haha. Perhaps I'll get answers from reading Verlorene Siege, which I just bought with eased COVID restrictions. Costly(as expected from gen autobios), but hopefully rewarding
