Timoshenko is also a pretty fun to use general who is cheap. Lots of hp, fast, decent output, and good survivability.

Japan doesn't get nukes in 1950, however the problem is the US sneaking in a nuke at you from Manila or Alaska

He gets missiled to one third health. But he is so good, he always managed to take out southern japan with no issue, only leaving a paratroop unit needed to take out the north

what makes artillery generals better than tank generals in wc3 as opposed to wc4? Is it because they deal more damage?

Mainly for the range and the ability to wipe out generals without taking damage. Another reason is that you still take retaliation damage even if you kill the unit meaning your tank gens will eventually get whittled down and lose combat effectiveness

And is blitzkrieg a viable skill for wc3 tank generals? Interesting differences here

Blitzkrieg is really helpful against generals but you do have to get lucky as it's only %24 change of activating. The only units with 2 range are Field arty, Rocket arty, and Super tanks but Super Tanks are really only available in the 1950 and 1960 conquests in which they often get nuked the second they're built.
