For f2p there will be 20 pure metals (18 arena reward and 2 proof of honor). At 4500 points per session and 8 hours between refreshes, it will be 23 days to get them all. So, choose wisely:

For f2p there will be 20 pure metals (18 arena reward and 2 proof of honor). At 1500 points per session and 6 hours (?) between refreshes, it will be 50 days to get them all. (not recommended, sleeping is important ) So, shoose wisely:
4500 points per session (3×1500) and 8 hours refresh.

You can only get pure metal from achievements right now. So it's very limited. Arena rewards too. Yes. I thought those were achievements too. My mistake.

Suggestions on what items to upgrade with the metal? The golden spear looks like a no brainer since its already so good. I might upgrade the shield of thunder as well, its base ability is mediocre but the high morale is very good.

Spear and Shield are on my list and then I try to find out more about the life steal/plague dagger (how much HP it will take over how many turns). Maybe it's good on archers to wear down minibosses like behemoth in legend mode. Gallic war is nice and Augustus Helmet could have synergy with the Shield and a Roar/Assault/Advantage user.

About the upgraded tutankhamun dagger: causes plague that lasts 2 turns and deals 10% of current max HP. For example, if the enemy has 900 HP with 3 stacks, it will deal 90 dmg and if you kill one stack before the next turn then it will take 60 dmg on the next turn. Basically, the same as goblin.
good but not too good:)

Too inconsistent to me. I'd rather get 10% of dealt damage heal on the Ganjing first.

Yep, and when I give it to my cavalry Commander with the upgraded Golden Spear, he will not only deal ridiculous amounts of damage, but can heal even up to 100+ health per turn when he gets multiple crits and attacks.

Tried it on Belisarius over the last 3 arena runs and 40-60 HP recovered on average seems more realistic (which is still more than any of the f2p healing items provide). I think it's possible for a skilled player to get ~50 HP even when not on a war chariot. But we can only heal what we steal, so clearing low health spam will not yield much in terms of HP. And there is round down, so for example 238 damage means 23 HP.
I'm going to include it in my top 5 picks.

Yeah, 40-60 seems on average isnprobably realistic, but occasionally when you get lucky you can definitely reach 100

I have upgraded my shield of thunder, golden spear, and ganjiang sword. I plan to upgrade the Augustus helmet next. I look forward to see what this epic war about, we might be able to get more pure metal there.
