I don’t know whether or not generic enemies will be that affected by leadership that much. Their attack usually isn’t good and I’ll likely kill stuff in 2 hits or less because I’ll have the commander skill active almost constantly. It’s still really great to have it of course, and it’ll wreck enemy cavalry/infantry generals that come to attack him, but I usually don’t really want him on the frontlines either due to his survivability issues. Maybe enemies gets serious enough that someone like Saladin with 2+ commanders can’t two shot things later though. Oh,those generic enemies (especially no name generals) are really tough opponents later on. Almost always they will be better than our generals, and their attacks can be simply insane at times... No-name generals are already a huge threat to me already, especially archers. That’s what I meant with enemy generals. But are generic troops that tough? Like 4000+ HP or something?

No, not like that, definitely, but it isn't so easy to kill them anyway, because only few generals retain their usual bonuses at lvl 6. So, for example, Suleiman, Saladin, Blucher don't have any additional bonus against Infantry. That means they can't one-shoot them before Commander buff is on...

A CavCom team of Atilla, Edward, Blucher and Saladin/Suleiman equipped with Gungnir/Mysteltainn could be really strong. I think Mysteltainn seems more suited to a general with range attack - probably archery - as you have the potential to affect more enemies with each hit, but using either on a commander just seems wasteful to me. I thought the ragnarok just targeted enemies around you? I’m planning to use nobunaga as my only archer at the moment. Maybe I’ll give him it, but I want the stats on the Mystletainn on Edward. Plus Ragnarok won’t be that good for him since I’m running CavCom. It works like Li's Fire Dragon and damages everything around the target.

I still want the stats on the Mystletainn on Edward more than having Nobunaga use that though I think.

Here is an example Plus they usually have all debuffs: spy, leadership, rumor at their disposal... Oh yeah, and speaking of this stuff, I really don’t like that tons of enemy generals have such crippling abilities, especially rumor. It just pairs really badly with the fog of war since you’ll pretty much outright lose if you don’t know where they are, and there’s only one way to find them, play the level once and reset. That’s tedious. I’m all for making a difficult game, but I don’t really find doing it like that particularly fun. That’s mainly because Fog of War is bad of course, but that just amplifies the issue even further imo. I also hate including them in AI fights.

There is another thing you have to be prepared for Don't trust the numbers in EW5. If your general has Bravenes lvl 9 and your chances to attack without retaliation are reasonably high - you still be counterattacked more frequently than 10 percent of the time. So, we have to upgrade all debuffs up to Max level to avoid this nuisance. And, on the contrary, if opposing general has rumor, - be sure you will be stunned more than 50 percent of the time.

We're attacking with Attila way more than 10 times per level. You're definitely going to get hit more than 2 or so times per level on average on a 1/10 chance. I typically use fractions like that to illustrate how unreliable anything less than 100% is. It just always feels absolutely horrible when you do roll badly when the odds are heavily in your favor. Never think that you can get away with 90%s or 80%s when you can avoid it with strategies that heavily depend on rolling favorably every time.

kanue was playing cavalry team iirc. How is Edward? Is a must memeber? Unfortunately, my device... was dead... somewhere around Industrial Age ... and , no.... there was no cloud saving back then. That's why I was kinda sad and did not have the chance to join the fun when you were trying to beat Volgograd. I eventually beat the game much much later on with an archer team. Regarding your question, I had planned to but not yet bought Edward before I lost my progress. I had Asoka though but, as already mentioned, he (and Edward) has problem with survivability because the counter attack from enemies when you try to get rage bar filled. I cannot answer whether he is a must because I had not finished the game back then but I think it is very beneficial to have him.

Btw, did you notice, guys, that it is possible to refresh keys to legendary chapters every 12 hours, exactly as daily missions? So, if we are lucky, have a good team or are energetic enough for save/load - we can beat the boss 6 times per 24 hours. I don't know how many medals we get in other chapters, but since defeating the boss in chapter one gives us 20 medals - we can get at least 120 additional medals per day... Have you defeated Trial II yet? I can win the first one with just my A team every time now, but when I last tried the second a few days ago I barely even harmed the end boss - he seems to have some kind of health bonus every round.

There's also two possible end bosses in Trial II. one of them I think is supposed to be "Midgardsormen", which is the serpent. That one is way easier than the other one since he seems to have way less threatening skills and pretty low attack. The wolf, "Fenrisulven", is way harder because he has two annoying minions, one of which has >lv6 leadership. And also because he seems to have Braveness and Logistics and way higher attack. You can't really throw weak people at him because he'll just heal. And the leadership wolf will cripple your efforts at damaging the big guy. You can beat the serpent no problem if you get a +50% extra damage bonus vs artillery usually.

Cheers Kev, I have seen the serpent before but it's been so long I was starting to wonder if it was just a glitch or if I imagined it I'll have a few goes over the weekend and see if I can get it again.

I tried to do it a week ago, just out of curiosity, but was forced to retreat with a bloody nose. But, very likely I'll try it again soon enough since all of my key players are in discovery age already.

As SolidLight says, it was much easier than the wolf; the difference between them is like night and day. I sent in one team of reserves to clear the minions and then the A team to finish the task. I think I'll stick with trial I for the daily routine for now though and take the guaranteed 20 medals every time, rather than the (50/50?) gamble for the sake of the 2 literature you get for trial II.
