So. After unlocking 1944 I decided to get Patton, he seemed shiny and cool and strong. But after a few rounds here and there I started to notice something, this guy wasn't very good. Out of the 60-80 of hits I had with him, Panzer Leader trigged only 4 times, and he did not have a single consecutive shot in which he hit multiple times and killed the enemy unit. Not even on KV2. Which is worse than Leeb. So I did some testing, comparing him with Timoshenkov in terms on damage. I used Stalingrad mission for 41 against the Pioneer in the beginning. And here's the results. Wow! It seemed that Timoshenkov's damage is a match for Patton! And again, out of these 10 attempts Panzer Leader have not triggered even once. Also, do note I was attacking a pioneer, a SPECIAL unit, meaning Patton has a 30% damage bonus. Am I expecting too much from him or does the other allied tankers have higher damages. Here's some examples:

NotRandom, You compared him to Timoshenko in the snow mission. Yeah, reasonable result. What is Your tech level for tanks? Top generals start to show better results when tech level is reasonably high. As in that case You will most likely be able to kill the unit and have multiple attacks. Before that Patton will be better mostly because of his survivability. I have max tech level and use Patton on Heavy tank in conquest mode. No problems with multiple attacks. He is good.

NotRandom , in this case, Timoshenko does more damage because of his snow fighting and tide of iron. Patton will do more damage when counterattacking in non-snow areas. Also, note that special strike's bonus is only applied to the HP of the special force, not the HP of the unit itself. Patton's main advantage is his blitzkrieg.

You still need patton due to his great movement and max blitzkrieg. However, if you find patton lacking in damage then by all means get vatutin.

Patton is no guderian, but he is probably the best tank option for allies. He is fast, durable and deals considerable dmg. All other alternatives fall behind:
Timoshenko - only on snow Vatutin - too slow Monty - just no

Here are the reasons why: Rokos panzer leader has 24% chance. Patton has only %12. Pattons accuracy strike is completely useless when it is fighting against non special units. I mean, special units die fast. and then you have to face the pure unit itself. Lastly blitz is better than machinist but still I think KV-6 can only be used with roko. Have you ever tried but when facing against cumulated enemies roko just massacres them by gettin 2-3 chances of fire due to its P. L. In meds patton is better.

Since there is no refund function in this game you must buy your generals very carefully.

Btw I just unlocked pacific and even thoguh I dont have any problems passing the missions I cant complete them 3 star due to my free naval gens being very bad. Is it worth buying nav gens in this game?If yes, who to buy?

You way overestimate rokossovsky's 24% Panzer Leader. Yes, he has more chance to hit twice, but if you stack them on top of tanks' 60% bonus it turns out that Rokossovsky has 69,6% chance of double attack compared to 64,8% for Patton. Yes, that's more, but not enough for me to sacrifice 1 more star and Blitzkrieg.
Rokossovsky comes out clearly on top only when fighting tanks, when in HT himself. Then he is definitely better due to 24% increased dmg.
Patton is similiar to Rokossovsky when fighting infantry with HT (5 more attack is somewhat cancelled out by 4,8% more double strike chance)
Patton however comes way above Rokossovsky, when: -Fighting artillery in HT -Fighting anything in MT (yes, I think not getting counterattacked by everything half the time is superior to hitting tanks harder) -Fighting anything except panzer forces in Armoured Car (here Rokossovsky's bonus is actually 12% over Patton, so he can kind-of-sort-of-ish keep up with durability and dmg)
Over that, Patton is faster and has some air utility
So yeah, Patton>Rokossovsky.
Rokossovsky is still good though and available way earlier than Patton

I have a real reason to dislike him. I BOUGHT HIM. He doesn't pack the punch and is very soft (yeah he has machinist, but travelling from factory to factory is sometimes an issue, especially in campaigns, where time is crucial) He is kind of slower and less durable Patton, limiting his use considerably. Maybe even Rokossovsky is better than him

I think you need to invest in a good naval gen for challenges and the later campaign missions, so pick Nagumo/Donitz if you really want that perfect clear. Otherwise, invest in an army general and buy a naval general later.

Also, quick note to Orwell:
-Timoshenko has bonus dmg on snow -Chance of triggering pancer leader once or more is actually 72% IF you haven't killed any unit. If you killed an unit all the attacks, it would be around 39%. It's fair to say around 45% if the time it won't trigger in 10 attacks. Nothing too unusual.

But, a lot of the reasons you are saying against Monty, can also be used against Roko.
