He didn't expanded his army openly, he only disclosed it when he felt he was powerful enough politically and militarily. Demilitarising Rhineland became possible because allies were neither seeing him as a threat nor wanted a war. Britain openly supported Anschluss. Treaty of Versailles was neither broken in a day nor in any single person's leadership. that was the reason why their navy was so terrible... Not really terrible. They just didn't had enough time

I'm seriously suprised that nobody(except me) voted for Winston Churchill. I think that even though Hitler was a decent leader, Winston Churchill kept Britain going on thtough WW2. He kept the morale up, which is a very, very, very importnat factor of war. There have been several books which refer to the 'physchology of war'. For example, say you were a soldier in a retreating and losing battle(the exact position of Britain in 1940, what with no Allies as well, except its Commonwealth allies, it was a very delicate time for Britain), and the enemy would drop in leaflets of captured fellow osldiers saying how good a time they were having, not being mistreated at all and hardly missing the war. You would be tempted to desert, which is what happened to many of Germany's soldiers when she was on its deathbed. However, this is not the case with Britain. In fact, Britain keeps its morale up with propaganda, bitter, and the British spirit. Winston Churchill played a huge part in keeping the people of England fighting agains the Nazis in 1940. I really think he's seriously underestimated.

Also Hirohito LOLOLOLOL, he played a minor, or non-existent role in WW2 except for the fact that he was Emperor. Also, feel free to correct me in any historical errors I have made in the above paragraph.

But that wasn't Hitler, that was his generals that he still listened to, once he started becoming a megalomanic, he lost all chance to even break even at the end of the war But the Manstein Plan would have never happened but for the approval of Hitler... Yeah but should we say that F.D.R was the best leader since he approved Operation Torch ? Churchill since he approved the invasion of Italy ?

Read Spike Milligan's war memoirs. They make me laugh, and it is the cynical viewpoint of the war from a regular British Gunner. Churchill played barely any part in this war. I would quote a conversation Milligan had with someone who fought during Dunkirk. The soldier said, "It was a [insert naughty word here] up. A highly successful [insert naughty word here]"

But, in previous 15 years, 3 Lords of Admiralities including Churchill has said that landing on Gallipoli is a very stupid idea, but Churchill in 1915 was jealous that Army was getting all the glory, not his navy so he made that plan and they actually managed to create a gap into ottoman lines which could have been desicive and those troops went a mile and then had no idea what to do since they were used to Western Front where they fought capture few yards and ottomans got time to reinforce.
