Churchill thought up of the mess that was Galipolli, and decided that a good way to defeat Germany would be through Italy. Read Spike Milligan's war memoirs. They make me laugh, and it is the cynical viewpoint of the war from a regular British Gunner. Churchill played barely any part in this war. I would quote a conversation Milligan had with someone who fought during Dunkirk. The soldier said, "It was a [insert naughty word here] up. A highly successful [insert naughty word here]" But we're talking about Winston Churchill, prime minister. However, Winston Churchill had a much higher rank than Hitler before he got sacked. Why did Hitler had lower rank? Both were the leaders of their countries.

Both were the leaders of their countries. I believe he/she means army rank, for example sergeant. They both fought in WW1, but Churchill was an officer, while Hitler was a mere soldier. (Sorry for historical inaccuracy, my Source is Wikipedia and Oversimplified.)

HOW COULD YOU FORGET THAT HITLER WASNT A MERE SOLDIER, BUT AN AUSTRIAN CORPORAL!! The irony is that the words - "That Austrian corporal" were said by you (I mean Hindenburg) and you forgot it

Hindenburg has done whatever he can do to stop the rise of Hitler but of course he cannot give communists chance to form government.

Shouldn't have appointed him, because he got too powerful after that.

Shouldn't have appointed him, because he got too powerful after that. There was no other option and hitler behaving more like Centre Right and communists were gaining support and probably would have won the next election and that's the last thing Prussian Junker will want.

Hindenburg has done whatever he can do to stop the rise of Hitler but of course he cannot give communists chance to form government. That is what even I believe. Nobody could have stopped him during that time, except if he had declared this rule (don't remember the name), due to which the army would have ruled Germany then
