I firmly believe that Saltin took the right choice when he chose to keep politics out of here. In the past I've been a user of a forum (not gaming-related) which had a politics thread, and it was quite a mess. Even if moderators tried to enforce some civility, it was often rife with accusations, ad personam attacks, uninformed comments and whatnot. Users of a certain political side were always treading on the fine line that divides what can be said from what can't. Normal internet stuff, in other words. Even here, in the ew7 section, I've seen a user that sometimes used to add some propaganda nonsense to his posts, with a classy touch of genetic determinism. Or another user, who wished a Russian user to be enlisted in the army and to gi ti the frontline... Trust me, we're better off without a politics thread. You'll just need to open Reddit, look at it for 5 seconds and you'll know the reason why. Teens on internet and politics don't mix well. Edit: With 'teens' I wasn't referring to anyone here, but to Reddit. I'm sure people here could (and there is evidence of this) have a sensible discussion about politics, but I think it's better that they're not discussed. Nah, it's mainly people in their 50s and 60s that behave like this. They are very vocal about everything they don't like, and sèem convinced that everything is going downhill. As if they were the first ones to say "O tempora! O mores!"... Teens can be just as obnoxious, but at least they can relax with videogames

Just a thought: with every update to EW7, the difference between a long-term IAP player and a permanent F2P player grows ever larger. And those who pay for the right things (for IAP players who don't buy everything) get a very big advantage over a F2P player, assuming both aren't optimising their games.
Although it is still possible to finish everything as a F2P player, especially if you optimise and utilise everything (gems, all existing equipment, every non-IAP gen, etc.), it can be fairly tiring. Plus, IAP gens have their Privileges which are essentially daily rewards or in-battle advantages. To make these purchases more appealing, these Privileges get relatively frequent boosts during short events.
A non-optimised player like me can muster up to 130k atk points (from 12 gens) in Territory but get easily wiped out by an optimised player of 60k defense points (from 4-5 gens). Or I can face a selection of 100k+ opponents if I log in at bad times, likely armed with IAP gens, properly matched unique equipment to gens and high-levelled, good quality troops. How much must a F2P player optimise his game to even hit or exceed 150k points, not to mention the 200k points others may have?

Im f2p but i can have power of 130k by spamming my strongest unit to every team but its not good thing to do. I use 110k but it still good.
The gap is too long, with the farm medal lost, the grind became too hard, also the time do it. I can't finish the new expedition in hard mode no matter i do, i wonder if stoic finish it, will wait for next update to progress things.

How much must a F2P player optimise his game to even hit or exceed 150k points, not to mention the 200k points others may have? I hear a lot of frustration between these lines and while some might say no pain no gain, I think that f2player's biggest resource is their resourcefulness, patience and stoicism when confronted with how awesome life could be if we just spent a few $ on this general and that medal package. And I do think that the presence of p2w has hit an unprecedented high in EW7 where about half of the mercenary units are somehow tied to IAP generals or weapons and we are confronted with such teams on a daily basis in territory mode.
That being said, f2p has to do with ~150k gold, 35 coins, 1.6 raid tickets, 240 medals and various items and scrolls per day (not factoring in epic battles, double events, territory battle rank rewards, login events and other one time rewards) which is something to work with compared to WC4 medals.. And the mightiest resource is the "load cloud save" button anyways
This allows me to field 160k points in territory but I still try to fight 11 "players" with less than 50k points for time saving reasons [btw, surprises such as the one you described happen, I guess we've all been there, hit the reload button or accept the loss and improve your intuition of what a strong team looks like besides their mere point value; there's 1300+ points possible per month for f2p] and 140k in expedition with one replacement for each troop category and several supporters on the bench. One notable "optimization" I might be doing is not buying gems but rather go for 16 coin t6 fragments and keeping gems at lv2 and lv3 instead of merging them for a few lv4/lv5 ones. This way, I can have at least 5 generals with high stats in each of the 5 capabilities which will increase gold gained from daily missions. Luckily, the option to go for rapid march via gems can now be achieved with a single gem of whipping in a lot of cases, which means merging them (and buying more) can be put off a little longer.
In general, saving up most of the resources (upgrade materials, gold, medals, drums, souls) for a future purpose or flash sale is valid and possible but some (like mithril, scrolls and mainly fragments) are difficult to attain in large quantities when needed in an instant so it's better to buy them on a daily basis. Here, the unit gallery provided by yuanzhong or unit assesments from experienced players such as andrei (and others whose name I don't remember right now) help a lot to make informed decisions.

It's funny, I haven't picked up Ew7 so this all looks like gibberish to me, but I'm invested because it could affect how future games play. As someone who is semi- p2w, I think they got it best in GOG3. Manstein is a beast don't get me wrong, but if you don't have good strategy you still aren't gonna win anything. Compared to WC4 where Manstein ups your chances by like, 80%

Nobunaga Oda, yeap i think so too, it seems much harder to be ftp in recent games as compared to before. It feels almost mandatory now to have to know most/all the known tactics and strategies in order to have a chance at competing. In a way it's a good thing for our site as players are constantly posting and looking for answers to help solve their challenges but in another way it could be detrimental if the balance is pushed a little too much to the point where many ftp average players would just give up because the games become too hard.

Most likely go into teaching. Start out as a high school history teacher until I get my masters, then go on as an assistant professor. I'd love to be one of the traveling historians that are highly venerated if I'm able to make some sort of big discovery though. I'm actually trying to get into an engineering course, though what you just listed is my backup plan lol. I mean history is really overlooked. Also, teaching and history are actually the two things I like. Also, one of my friend's sister is coming to Texas this December and she's worried about acclimatizing there. Who's a better person here than you to ask some 'things to know about Texas?' If Warlord247 is familiar with the Gulf Coast, I can tell you anything about anywhere north of Mesquite. As long as you don't visit the cities, people are actually the Texas "yeehaw" stereotype. Honestly. Even in some cities, such as Amarillo, you can still feel that sort of veneer. Don't bring up Oklahoma except to talk about their terrible football season. Otherwise you will get... mixed results to say the least. Everyone is highly friendly, and is very individualistic. Don't expect people to be very educated, but most can hold a strong conversation in almost any practical skill. If you really wanna make them happy, mention the fact that you enjoy their food. Literally, I have had McDonald's employees brighten up when I compliment the food. It's insane. One last word of advice. Have her go to Oklahoma instead. It is superior in every. single. way. Not Eastern Oklahoma, though. They're kinda racist.

Also, I just got Deltarune, and I was actually really fun. I usually don't like any games outside of the history genre, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Gerd von Rundstedt tsk tsk gerdy, always trying to start a fight. How DARE you spread the misinformation of Oklahoma being a better state? Texas is superior on every way. Please keep such treasonous sentiments to yourself

How are you Eugene V. Debs? I don't think I saw you on at all yesterday I'm doing well, thanks. I've actually checked the forum a few times, though since the boards seemed to be silent, I didn't post anything. Then, I returned to a book about the Battle of France that I've been reading for a while, and it's been good so far, although there were a few little points that I didn't agree. Anyway, how about you? Hope you're doing well too.
