For a cavalry general, maybe it's just better to get Alfred immediately, so his hero legend chapter can be played. For f2p there are also other hero legend chapters that "force" us to buy some generals, like Cnut, Frederick, Nur Din and others. So, IF (and only IF) we want to unlock some additional content (without waiting too much to get enough medals to buy these generals in addition to our favored ones, I mean), it seems like we have to follow a pre-determined path. But obviously we can just choose to buy them later in the game when we have medals in excess, but it would take time. stoic , i'm curious to know your opinion on this, since you're going f2p I'm not too fussed about hero legend to be honest. I suppose they give decent rewards, but I enjoy conquest and campaign a lot more. Hero legend missions typically require 0 strategy and a ton of just brute force.ย I haven't played a single hero legend chapter yet, I'm just progressing in the campaigns for now, so I don't know what kind of rewards they give. But yes, they can probably be postponed without thinking too much about it, I guess. |

And obviously the priority is having good generals to progress in campaigns, so my reasoning is just for the sake of unlocking additional content without waiting too much to have the necessary medals to buy both good generals (and the ones we are most fond of) and the generals that unlock hero legend chapters.
Luckily, Cnut, Alfred, El Cid and Robert the Bruce can fall into both categories.

And it is a good way to develop the game and to keep the interest of players. A fairly high chance, I think, to see more of them. |

you shouldn't be worried about medals if you can grind all the medals you can from campaign and conquests, and do you daily quests + ads everyday. as long as you prioritise and you don't buy bad generals, you can't go wrong. if you are stuck on a mission and can't progress but you have resources to upgrade generals/units or medals to buy generals, it's reasonable to spend those resources rather than waiting for an update

Yes, as I said in my second post, campaign is the priority. But we could save time by buying some of those generals earlier, since they're quite expensive, and it might take some time to grind for medals. Truth be told, I don't feel the lack of medals so far. I bought Justinian and Simeon already, and still have 700 medals. I haven't completed normal campaigns yet, haven't played hard mode campaigns and there are still plenty of conquests left. My suspicion is that medals' grinding will be only moderately difficult in EW7. |
