There is some defensive element to territory mode. I lost them all, my deployment for my defence will need some work. Fortunately there doesn't appear to be any consequences to losing a defence. Is there a benefit for winning the passive battles? Because I thought to let everyone have their daily rewards and just put a single legion brigade

andrei, how did you calculate the points/ are there certain thresholds we need to reach for silver, gold etc? If it's purely about being better than the rest then this can be reached by some on the first day!?

No, You can fight 5 times per day for free (7 times with Saladin privilege). 4 points for every win. Simple And yes, eventually You will reach those silver, gold rank just like the rewards level in Arena of GCR It is just time limited event (season or tournament whatever they call it). Before the end of June.

There has been a considerable number of hackers spotted with generals/units not yet released and replicated unique items (more than 20 reported within 10 hours).
This is no good. Hopefully it won't become another GoG2 arena.

ET offered in ew7 an alternative to stupid auto-battles in the GCR arena. Let's try to compare the utility for the player... 1. Shared resources. Ew7: small gold auto income and large gold costs for construction. Gcr: Don't spend anything. 2. Special resources. Ew7: Small silver income from battles and high silver costs for construction. Gcr: Spend nothing and get badges. 3. Rewards for rating. Gcr: pure metal, gems, badges. Ew7: Two Raid Tickets and a Photo Frame. Frame, Carl!!! Conclusion: stupid autoboys in GCR are better??? 😯😞 P.S. This is the first impression, it is not very objective, I hope it will change....

So no need to rush in buiding construction because you always can find beatable opponent (may be a bit time consuming). Full control battle helps you a lot. In GRC, 90% you will lose if opponents have Hannibal and you have to accept it, you can't refresh opponents. You can choose a suitable opponent in EW7 and can win themeven they're stronger than you. I lose a defend battle when face a lower pts opponent (51k vs 76k) because he played manual). In overall, it's easy to get rewards in EW7 than GCR. About rewards, you also get souls, unit fragments, silver (yep save for items in shop), and collectible items (I like this ). And the tournament will be feresh monthly (I guest), so you get more rewards, not like GCR, only collect rune to exchange badges now, really boring. So Territory mode in EW7 is not a great feature but it's not that bad

I saw a few P2P player's / potential bots" defensive layout. It seems that they kept their troops together on Patrol mode around the city. A mobile unit (either 3× Templars or Hospitaliers) will be set to Attack mode and deployed away from the city. I can't tell whether these are the actual settings, but based on best guess, this is it.
By the way, Auto mode can range from acceptable moves to the expected horrendous plays which ET's player AI usually make.
For active players: Does the Justinian-Theodora bond increase the coin income? It's a bad setting IMO. I use all defend setting because you can lost 1 - 2 gens easily if attacker have full team at 1 side. I use full defend team and stand around city, it makes enemies have to come to fight you and they have to spend mobility to do that while you can do fully attack next turn. All defend is bad because they remain completely immobile, which basically allows me to pick off your units one by one piecemeal.

However, what I'm often most scared of is when the enemy just decides to go on full attack mode. This prevents me from isolating and destroying the troops separately. This is extremely bad especially when I don't have Iap units and others have like 5.

If you checked bonuses of different buildings you perhaps noticed that high level archer towers etc. could be a real pain eventually. I predict there will be tough battles even taking into account that we have control over troops. And I completely agree with truhses: at the moment we spend more than we gain. Perhaps, it is not a problem for players with millions in coffers, but I have 3000 now 😉 😜 Yet, if we are lucky enough to collect all rewards from triumphs our investments may be worth it. Though I can't exclude that lvl 15 castle will cost us literally millions. With all pros and cons in is an interesting experiment to participate in I accept the challenge to complete it as a f2p player

We can still get win in this mode, I met some newbies (play about 1 - 2 months) get struggle in Arena in GCR, they can't get even 1 win every refresh, I said it's a pain. And luckily we don't lose anything when losing a defend battle (in 3KC we lost resources and again, it's a pain). Territory is a really friendly mode IMO.

For developing the territory depends on the answer to the question whether it will provide bonuses for other game modes or not. Like as I can see we can build some Wonders with battle effects. But I don't understand why do we need Wonders for naval battles in case territory mode is not naval at all.
Is this question resolved? Whether the bonuses are going to be global?
