I wanted to give an easy victory for everybody (and I think it would be easy even with a gunoowder age team...) and I feared that by deploying low level generals the reward would have decreased. I wonder what it's based on. I used to find a Bloodaxe of Uhud with wooden walls and only a maxed Arthur, and it gave me the max reward. |

An interesting hack 🤔 Elite units disguised as lvl 2 units. It's not a hack, it's been introduced early in the summer iirc. You can change their appearance once you upgrade them to lvl7. It costs 200 medals the 1st time, then some coins every time you switch from an appearance to the other. Nobunaga can be ashigaru, Li Shimin fire dragon, Alexander hoplite, Mulan chu-ko-nu and so on. But they are still lvl7 |

What's the best way to spend the silver earned - on medals or the purple items for generals?
Princess trails are still a bit ahead of me, so I don't think I need to invest in Crown coins yet.

Iron or silver, there is no clear name to refer to it. I call it Iron.
You should spend iron always on purple/unique item available in the shop. Medals is lame there, just exchange it when you have no better thing to do.
That's the only place to earn crown coins, and you need to spend 12.6k iron to buy it. If you have no trouble earning iron, then you can do what you want, but keep in mind that to max all princess you will need to exchange that much iron (assume you able to beat all princess trail and get all the reward).
Princess is also quite expensive to update to max: about 5k medals each. You can definitely use them as support in the battlefield to work with your crit gens (increase crit), skill gen (increase rage to release skill faster), and other use.
I only use Maria lv 8 to reduce enemy attack. So at the moment I have 4k crown coins and not update any other princesses.

Further adding to visiel's points: We can only get 100 crown coins per day (exchange limited to once per day) so it's a good thing to have a decent supply of them available even if we don't use them (yet) to upgrade princesses.

I see that we can receive 300 medals for upgrading our house to lvl 16.  Are there other medal rewards for further constructions? |

I didn't record medals reward, but you can get 4.2K iron or silver (marketplace currency) if you achieve all castle achievement (exclude the defense victories achievement line as I stop at 41/50 and too lazy to process further. For your note, if you reach 50 defense victories, you will get 500 medals. Next or last achievement for defense is 100 victories, I don't know the reward though).

stoic, there are rewards up to the last level of the castle buildings (16 and 20 for most, walls have more), but I can't remember what they were exactly. Judging from the fact that I reached them they must be worth it (medals/ore) or require at least not too much effort:)
