In case you are not aware of. Stats boost from unit building in castle mode carry on for units outside castle mode. The stats boost is effective in all mode for recruitable unit (Not generals/heroes).
Tested and verified in: Campaign, Conquest _ both new and saved one.

Summary of new update:
2 new packages: 1) $6 legend mode package: You now can auto legend. 2) $4 Castle/Siege mode: You can challenge others 5 times instead of 3 times.
Siege mode is introduced: 1) You can attack others, just like in Ruins/Arena.
2) Time limit is 12 rounds.
3) There is no penalty to test opponents. No cool down on swapping opponent. Failure or exit does not consume reward times.
4) Reward so far is 2k gold flat, and silver range from 80 to 127 silvers depends on enemy strength. (If you get burned out at defense mode, do 80s silver opponents instead of 127 silvers one as they are likely easier)
New unique items: 1) Heihachiro's Western Saber _ 5,500 Silvers: +110 Atk, +20% Crit Dmg, +25HP Regen, +15% XP _ Exclusive effects: Always crit when fighting at sea. 2) Beowulf's Dragon Round Shield _ 4,800 Silvers: +90 Def, +220 HP, +150 Hit, 15% XP _ Exclusive effects: Chance of burn enemy when attacking. Immune to burn. 3) Charlemagne's Globus Cruciger _ 5,300 Silvers: +65 Def, +80 HP, +420 Hit, +25 HP Regen _ Exclusive effects: All friendly troops in surrounding 1 grid take 15% less damage. 4) Genghis Khan's Heaven's Spear _ 6,500 Medals: +200 Atk, +200 Hit, +10% Crit Chance, +20% Crit Dmg _ Exclusive effects: Chance of increase morale after attacking. When the morale increases, deal additional damage to a target in range.
Miscellaneous patch: 1) Remove 1 minute wait between watching ads. 2) Remove 9,999 cap for silvers. 3) Fix Daily Mission/Legend mode refresh time. Now it's twice a day at fixed time: 1 at reset, and another 12 hours after. Basically same time as Defense mode. 4) Double required time for daily mission: now it takes between 30 to 60 minutes to do a mission.

It allows you to avoid actually playing, if I understood correctly. You use the raid and you instantly have 30 or 40 medals (depending on what you choose, if trial or decisive battle)

visiel, it's especially painful that we still have to do castle defenses if we want the corresponding achievements (counter starts at 0/10) But there is now a 300 medals for 6000 silver deal in the market ...yeah

Siege mode review:
1) AI wasn't smart 2) If you play ew7, the defense here is set up like in patrol mode. 3) The wall, while annoying, gives some strategy/rage regen time as enemy like to bump into wall in 1 turn instead of rushing to you (They have more than enough mobile to reach me, but they didn't _ refer to 1)). 4) Hall of Heroes boost generals' stats!!! I feel really good about it. My awak Suri in high morale and 2 commanders buff has 300 more atk vs herself in defense mode. It makes the experience a lot smoother than defense mode. 5) If you occupy enemy Hall of Heroes, all your gens get high morale. 6) If you destroy enemy Castle, all enemy gens get low morale. 7) Commander generals play the major roles here. Once you have 2+ commander buffs activated, you can beat AI controller team even they are maxed.
Either way, I did all 127 silvers battles with 8 generals and it's not as difficult as I though initially due to 1) lol. Timewise, it's faster than the regular defense that I do twice a day for 180 silvers.

It indeed seems there is a bug in Castle defense (means when you are defending for 20 turns against enemy raids). I thought it is linked with enemy rumor triggering, but for example today my Saladin just stopped moving after turn 2 without being rumored, followed by Pachacuti and Alexander later. All of them just remained immobile for the rest of game...
EDIT: tried again on maneuvre battle, and it's no bug per se - in my opinion it probably should have been some intended feature, but it seems to be messed up...
Whenever you step by you own unit in the forest tile - meaning one of those up to 12 forests tiles you can place as a defense of your castle - your unit will be stuck here until end of battle. Cannot move and cannot attack for the rest of 20 turns.
Unfortunately, your forest tiles don't affect enemy units. So this is the reason I think it's messed up. It should affect your enemies, not you.

And yes, I find the same names every day, or at least some of them are the same. Moltke of South, Mu'awiya of Iberia, Osman of Istanbul, Julius of Somme, Wellesley of Ardennes, Leonidas of Peloponnese... Do you also find these?

What I notice so far is that silver does increase for those I attack. For ex: first day I attack the highest are 127 and I beat all 3 of them and there were only 3. 2nd day, I am lazy so I do 90s. 3rd day I notice the reward became 128. As of now the highest is 132 for me.
I feel that reward increase the more siege battle you do. For ex: You don't need to keep attacking the highest 127 silver reward to increase the cap, but like if you just attack the 80s/90s, when you go through the selection, the highest should increase. I have no other inputs from other players to confirm that though. I am hoping my discord friends will give me some more info over time.
Regarding how siege determine silvers reward, I believe it base on general level, # of deployed generals, wall level, and other factor. I do see some 100s enemy with all level 70 heroes (not all 16 though, but like 8 or so) but their wall level is average. I also see some 127+ enemy with not all few level 40s/50s heroes.

Rommel of Aztecs, Caesar of Canterbury, Beatty of Tbilisi, Suchet of Yekat., Bluetooth of Cape Point as well as Yang Yuhan of Right and Harald of Left. Today's starting silver is 128 but I'm pretty sure it will change when I start doing sieges (later)
Edit: it was 3x128, not sure what happened that one time when I saw 132.
