It fully depends on how persistent You are in terms of upgrading different units. In case You are not focusing it next update won't surprise You. |

But with the latest update we've recieved a possibility to upgrade tons of generic units. Now is the biggest breakthrough. The next one will give far less possibilities. |

I made an experiment: selling everything I could turn into gold and then spend 7 million gold on upgrading everything (mostly campaign units) that was available. It brought me slightly above 120000 merit points, ~4000 short of lv50 aka Subutai's weapon. I've still over 1000 mercenary orders and probably 500 more after this flash sale, so Moonshots is within reach, it's really a matter of gold for me.

I spent 8 millions on upgrading everything, but then reloaded and decided to do it over some time instead. I never ever thought I'd see the day I would buy scarecrows, but today I started. For future upgrades. |

I am still two steps away… feels like an eternity. should get li jing’s weapon in a week or so though… I have my li jing all prepped up and ready to go already, in theory he should be quite the destroyer once equipped. Funny because he was one of the first gens I got with medals at the beginning. Talk about long term planning. edit: I realised I still dont have yelu dashi, sort of escaped me when it came out I guess… so got him today and did some of his HL and… voila, I just got li jing’s unique. Took him straight to top spot in my gen castle  let us know how subutai fares in the context of your overall gen line up |

To get a feel of how good Subutai's/Genghis' (?) active can be, try the secretly buffed Magyar gen in Century of Iron.
You can use it once every turn.

And I haven't done Templar treasure and hundred years war hard yet in anticipation of the Moonshot unlock. Just a few more days of patience for the 20 gendarme fragments and there should be plenty of experience to talk about.

Thanks, from what I've read you shouldn't be too far away either. I've actually had it for a long time, but I also have Charlemagne. So not much to boast about in my case. As for HoS, I'm at lv 57. And I totally agree with others who have pointed out that Subutai's active is amazing. EVERY round he deals around 500 dmg to 3 enemies without attacking them. Incredible. |

Still some way to go but starting to think more about Subutai… any other interesting set up apart from IBC + MAM + MR that could be considered for Subutai?
The only one I could come up with is IBC + MR + WR to get forest movement, which can make quite a difference, but loosing that extra attack seems like too much of a cost to pay. Unless equipment and/or whipping gem are used I guess
And it would seem that using any ranged infy other than WR would be a no no for mobility too. Or perhaps IBC + MR + ravenna with whipping gem? Just feels underpowered idk, looses some dodge which is pretty important for archer-archer battles just to get mountain movement
