We got 2 new operations (at easy, medium and hard difficulty) and 9 medals (not the currency ) that are very similar to EW7 gems. And new generals. So a new thread is overdue.
FAQ on the mechanics revolving around the new medals and skills:
Does Air Force Commander (reduced resource cost for air attacks) also apply to missiles?
->No. Missiles are not affected.
Will auras (unit specific and/or non-specific) stack?
-> No. Tested with 2x tank aura (assault lv3 & tank lv3) as well as with tank aura + all aura (assault lv3 & tank lv3 and 2x assault lv3) and only got +5 atk for each case.
Does organization trigger only once per game or does it work as long as the requirement is met (1 use per turn)?
-> Itβs possible to trigger it more than once per scenario, making organization a boosted version of supply for infantry.
Tested with Tolbukhin (+100HP) on Commando (75HP)
It activated at 100 HP so next turn I had 130 HP.
Thatβs more than half (175/2=87.5), so maybe below 75/2 +100 is the criteria.

Can we trigger the "hit again" multiple times or is it limited to once per turn?
-> Yes. Thanks to starfire67 for confirming this.
How does this "chance that inactive units join the attack" (group attack) mechanic work?
-> Place a unit of the required type next to the user of the skill and don't attack the target yet. Then, have the user attack and hope that the other unit attacks as well. Afterwards, the support unit can move/attack on its own.
-group attack skill can be triggered at least twice per round. I had my artillery EC proc the skill, then his 9% attack again happened and he triggered fire suppression again. That's unlike at 0.25*0.09*0.25=0.56% but the odds become only better with higher level medals.
-there is no splash damage if a rocket artillery attacks via group attack/fire suppression and being the "inactive" part. Can be good to avoid hitting own units but less damage overall.
-Basically, it is counted as one attack but with a different animation. Defense Tactic skill needs to trigger once only in order to reduce the combined damage. Also, when attacking cities with almost no wall left, both/the combined attack is split into unit dmg and city dmg.

Could it be that the fatal blow mechanic/multiplier has been altered or is it still "just a little more damage"?
->No, it's still a small amount (see Assault Art EW4 or Headhunting EW7), especially if the general has a lot of stars, flat damage skills and/or +atk medals equipped.
If we perform a few tests to find out min_dmg and max_dmg (so we can calculate average damage with 0% fatal blow chance) a general deals in a given scenario, then average_dmg (with fatal blow chance) is
avergage_dmg = fbc * max_dmg + (1-fbc) * 0.5 * (max_dmg + min_dmg)
where fbc is fatal blow chance from medals and leader skills. This makes the strike medal pretty bad compared to boosting atk, dmg or giving a chance to attack again.
So, which are the good medals?
Viewed in isolation, tank and artillery medals seem to be the best, they boost our most important units and in the case of tanks we can utilize the boost multiple times per round.
Mobility can be good on slow units (Govorov etc) but we're missing out on damage and the highest unit upgrades (+4) might just provide enough mobility.
Air Force medal is decent, but air defense and mission resources limit the damage potential. Besides, we'd have to buy them directly or grind non-hard operations.
Infantry and Navy medals can only be useful in a handful of scenarios.
Combo medal (chance to attack again) has a great effect but is too unreliable.
Assault (+dmg%) and Strike (+fatal blow chances) medals are greatly outperformed by +atk medals.
Medals combinations:
auras -ok, usually it's better to have two +atk medals equipped
group attack -useful against generals and strongpoints; really good on artillery, not so good on infantry and tanks with range=1
rumor -meh, not for aliens and normal units
air force range -certain scenarios/conquest
boosted fbc/dmg%/attack again with movement -does it apply to all attacks or only first of this turn?
extra +dmg% -probably still inferior to flat +atk
combination of fatal blow & attack again -statistically inferior to two +atk medals
still more testing/experience required
How to obtain these new medals?
-> We get a handful from daily logins and for clearing operations (Barbarossa and Patriotic War at this point) on each difficulty for the first time. After this, we can redo these scenarios to get another chance to randomly pick 1/2/3 medals out of the given pool. [re-rolling doesn't seem to work]
The first restart is free, then it's 200 medals for Barbarossa and 220 for Patriotic War. In total, we can restart 3 times per day.
Barbarossa hard for 1 tank and 3 random medals after each completion-> 0/200/200
Patriotic War hard for 1 mobility and 3 random medals after each completion-> 0/220/220
Apart from this, we can buy them from the "featured" shop for 100-300 medals a piece depending on the quality/rarity (each has 5 per day available). Reset time (new day) is the same as most other easytech games.
air force, navy, infantry cost 100
artillery, tank, mobility cost 150
combo, assault, strike cost 300
Who are the 12 new generals?
They appear in the featured shop for 2-3 days before being replaced by another "-50% offer". So far, their prices are constant. Discussions on individual generals can be found scattered in this thread and here. Listed in order of first appearance.
(Thanks to Just One Bite and Erich von Manstein for helping me collect all the screenshots)
Note: Most of the new generals look a lot stronger or cheaper than comparable ones that we already have in the academies. But they have quite low health and if you want to add the medals to raise their rank to the price tag, this will help:
