Full(er) preview of the new update dropped. From what I can see that's new: - Wittman's new skills are called "Breakout" and "Ace Armour". Lvl3 of each, and he has lvl4 Anti-Armour and Lvl3 Explosives. Only starts at +80 HP, though.
- The new Defence Medal is confirmed 5% per level, and has 9 possible skills
- ECs can learn Desparate, Organisation and a skill called Early Warning. Not sure of the price.
- ECs can have individual skills reset instead of the full array. Very useful, especially given the point above.
- Some skills and medals are having their "attribute values optimised", whatever that means. Hopefully buffs to weak skills rather than nerfs.
- Fortifications are getting AP. Might give them some use in alien conquests.
- Although it's not in this update, there are plans for conquest diplomacy options, as well as "challenge conquests" and related achievements.
The skills and medals buffed are mostly related to crit. Horton's Early Warning is now a reduction against everything. The 3 new skills can be unlocked from the new operation, all 3 in easy mode. Sounds like all of them are super expensive though. If we do not have data yet for the three new skills, I'll use my 10k medals after I unlock the skills and then load the game.

Early Warning: (5 + lvl * 5)% reduction on navy. Unlock by killing Horton in Invasion of North Africa: Casablanca. Desperate: (lvl * 6) damage when counterattacking. Unlock by occupying Jerusalem in Invasion of North Africa: Cairo. Organization: (10 + lvl * 10) HP regen per turn once dropping below 50% on infantry. Unlock by killing Slim in Invasion of North Africa: Cyrenaica.

Sounds like all of them are super expensive though. So how buffed are the crit skills? Are any of them not worthless now? Not the crit skills. Crit medals. They now offer 6% per level. The crit+damage skill now gives 30/40/50% additional crit damage. Using a 5* general on field artillery with lvl 4 Leader skill as an example, Leader skill alone provides 16 extra damage with 16% chance on average. With crit+damage skill, it now provides (28 + 70) * 0.3/0.4/0.5 = 29.4/39.2/49 extra damage with 34/40/46% chance on average, subject to 6/8/10% bonus. That's 10.6/16.93/26.95 extra expected damage. Very costly, and I could just use two unit medals for that.

Organisation is cheaper than Explosives whilst Desperate is as expensive as Supply? Not what I was expecting.

Wittmann, $7. I think I will replace Ace Forces with Ace Armour in my Tank EC. Ace Forces can only give you extra 90 hp almost everytime.

Is there a way to get defense medals besides buying them in the featured shop? 2700 to use and test skill combinations is quite the investment.. And I've seen a HP medal (20HP at lv1 and 40 at lv2) on some generals in the newest operation. Maybe we don't need to promote low health of recently added generals and just equip medals for when it matters. Erich von Manstein, Luigi Sansonetti, since you have experience with guides and recommendations becoming outdated, do you think it's a good idea to edit the opening post to include the latest changes and add helpful information such as the calculations on the fatal blow + increased damage or to better wait for enough material (aka updates) to start something fresh (if at all). And on a side note, blueberry how is your run so far, which generals are you going to pick besides the ECs and how is it going without wonder farming?

And on a side note, blueberry how is your run so far, which generals are you going to pick besides the ECs and how is it going without wonder farming? Not bad. Thanks to Sansonetti I was able to get Guderian without Badoglio (which is what I did when I played years ago). Now I think I will save to get some of the new generals, since they are at half price. I want to get Sikorski, Horton and Weygand (yes, I know he is not very good, but I like the képi ). Then I'll get the regular good generals (Govorov, Patton, Goering,maybe someone else).
