I'm rooting for Jebe and the ArchComs Though Nobunaga and Nelson will be missed, (the chance of) not taking counterattack dmg and buffs is a huge bonus. We still have Robin and Mulan, and Mocte and Catherine have a fairly good chance to attack without retaliation There are 3 excellent Archers with Leadership (Li, Pachacuti and Mocte) so the absence of Nobunaga is not critical. Unfortunately, we don't have other Archers with Spy ability. But even without powerful Nobunaga, Nelson and Yi ArchCom looks promising enough. Cavalry and Infantry have more gaps but we still have a good choice. Suri, Edward, Asoka, Hannibal, Shingen, Huo are quite reliable when equipped properly. But we still need 2 more for Cavalry trials 5 and 6. That is the tricky part Henry, El Cid, Batu Khan... Each of them has pros and cons (and cons are heavier ) We have numerous Infantry generals with interesting skills and abilities but few of them are up to the standards of Alex, Ceasar and Richard. However, when mixed together, Blue and Gray (mostly awakened versions) generals have their chances when lead properly. Maybe I am overoptimistic, but it is interesting to try it 🤔

My first "discovery" is that Mocte's healing ability makes life significantly easier. Blue/gray generals are extremely vulnerable at the start of the game and support plays a vital part. I think Mocte is pretty much a must have nowadays: even his Fort skill is useful for Paris and you can always find a place for him in a 12 man team, if not your main one.

I have to say it is one of the easiest (if not the easiest) start of the game I ever had. Mainly because of financial reasons. Upgrade costs are cheap and we have an opportunity to upgrade vitally important skills right from the start. Moreover we can promote our generals relatively easy. Only 180 medals to Empire age. That means it is possible to play at our leisure without actually waiting for necessary amount of medals to move forward. Paladin Armour already? Nice

Sweet. I better make my mind up soon otherwise you'll be nearly finished and uncatchable Nah, it is a marathon, you know it and I know it . Everything can happen on a long distance But in one respect I am sitting on the fence waiting for your decision... I mean blue coins. I have 20k of them and haven't spent them yet before we could reach an agreement.

As we all know a transition period from Discovery age to Gunpowder age can be quite painful. I was always profoundly suspicious about literature farming, especially fully automated. But with some initial preparations it may work, I believe. My idea is to deploy 4 self-sufficient generals (I think anyone below Discovery age promotion is out of question) who are able to sustain themselves and their comrades in arms, hopefully. So, I created 3 teams. 1. Mocte (an obvious choice with a great combo Cure Master+Leadership) 2. Huo (he is actually very similar to Saladin in many respects. If Saladin is good for conquests, Huo should do the job just as fine) 3. Joan (her healing ability is not up to the standards of Mocte but it should be enough for conquests) + Cleo (to break the walls and unleash her Rumor from time to time. Probably I will replace her later with Lincoln, sending thus 4 teams to different directions instead of 3) After 10 turns of preparations Greece has 10 provinces more than her nearest contenders. I think it is a sensible decision to break up diplomatic relations with Rome, otherwise Rome may become too powerful expending westward unopposed. So, experiment number one, switching to auto after 10 turns...

Well, the result is hardly a spectacular one... Not sure if it is worth it...
