"Hold the ground" missions are completed on normal and hard difficulty.



I think that all new players after building the most important Wonders should concentrate their efforts on completing these types of Events.
First of all, rewards are just great for any new player. You get medals for completing each mission, you get medals by collecting milestone rewards, you get fragments of elite units and plenty of other resources (irrelevant for endgame players, but very helpful for anyone else).
Then, you don't need any specific upgrades most of the time. The only one exception is, probably, "Accumulate supplies" Event, when economic skills of our generals may be quite useful. But other than that you just upgrade your best generals and that's enough for this. Since we should upgrade our best generals to defeat daily Invasions anyway, no special preparations are needed.

Last, but not least, it is a reliable source of several types of elite units. We are not at the mercy of RNG here, and that is always a good thing!

Here are a couple of my ideas about farming 3 Ribbons per run with any f2p friendly team a new player could have after a week or two of playing.

Naval Warzone

One of the most profitable warzones in terms of earned points, imo. The key is to position your best Admiral in the square when he can use his firepower at his best in attack, as well as in counterattack.
The second Admiral (Horton can do the job just fine) support your best Admiral harassing Raeder.




Now it's time to occupy the best squares for my Darlan and Horton.




After that our best Admiral attacks pretty much everything he likes and Horton attacks Raeder to the utmost end. Our carrier attacks the town most of the time.








Infantry Warzone

I usually don't have too much hopes for it. So, the main objective is to earn 300 pts (slightly more or slightly less).

Our best Infantry general takes the brand of the fighting near the enemy Fortress. The rest are usually occupied with mopping up operations. Don't forget to hire your combat medics on turn 1.











Tank Warzone
Together with Naval Warzone it is one that provides us with a good number of points. On a good day you can achieve 100% result with ease, but even a decent result of 400 points is sufficient. I deploy my second and third Tank generals here. The key is that our heavy tank attacks and counterattacks as often as it is possible.










Steel Warzone
Final battle

I usually make a save before it. When I don't have at least two Honor Ribbons after completing it I reload.

We have a heavy tank and Rocket Artillery, so, we can deploy our best Artillery and Tank generals here. The main idea is to break through the enemy lines as soon as possible and to move our heavy tank close to the Fortress on turn two. Without any necessity I don't move neither my Infantry nor my medics close to the Fortress (I do it only once to blow up the mine). In such scenario enemy Fortress is forced to attack our best generals instead of other targets. When one of my generals needs healing (usually an Artillery general) I rather move him out of the fire range of the Fortress than my medics close to the Fortress.

Still day 29 and I have completed Maginot line ... on hard. I wouldn't believe that myself that it is possible after a month of playing but here it is
